Vatican army may "recruit women"

Women may be allowed to join the exclusive ranks of the world's smallest army, the head of the Vatican's Swiss Guard says.

The 500-year-old force, devoted to protecting the pope, usually recruits only young, single, Roman Catholic soldiers from Switzerland.

I think young single Swiss girls would look cute in that outfit don't you ?!!

Re: Vatican army may "recruit women"

I second that emotion.

Would young Swiss misses want to be seen alive in that uniform?
They'd miss their usual tights and tops belted at the hips, or their boots with trusty jeans and proud coin slots showing.

Well, if they do let Swiss girls in, that'd be the most action the Swiss army has had in ages, if not ever!

It would be kinda weird, especially for the boys. There's an unwritten rule it's a Boy Zone, if you get my drift.

Well then the ladies would be able to take advantage of plenty of advice on how to accessorise their pantalons.

And what makeup colours should go with the burnt orange and navy blue stripes.

Re: Vatican army may "recruit women"

not a good idea. First there's the unflattering vertical stripes, then the baggy Pantalons, not to mention the burnt orange clashing with everything... But what are the girls supposed to do with that god-awful beret?

A god-awful beret isn't all that awful to wear for a girl.
Even I wore one when I worked for Securitas, which was quite awful

Honestly, that uniform is just so absolutely, totally ridiculous !!! I need to check whether it has ever gone through some modification process throughout its history.

I suspect the Colonel may have modified the cut of the fatigues at some point...

You can't really fault the logic. I know I'd feel alot better with a bevy of fit young fillies looking after me.

Though, I'd probably do something about the uniform. The pantalons and tunics have to go, but the berets might stay....

I'll bet they are a throwback to the 16th century. At least.

Hmmm... a quick Google picture search yields dozens of results for this particular image, none of which is suitable for this forum.

Alas.
