I sympathize. Mine has a pretty restricted diet but wants to eat everything she can sniff out, even on the floor or ground. Her chest has thick black hair and she touches my legs every so often. She also likes to observe insects. Strange.
Pssst! She's also a real b*tch.

I just checked the chest of my boss, no thick black hair!
I do have to deal with occassional b*tchy moments, just adds character (...chuckles ) |

My boss is a schitzo
Tell him how wonderful his shoes are or comment on his recent tanning salon session and he thinks you're the shizz.
But the rest of the time he's a psychotic imbecile who never thinks before he acts/speaks.
We just had our employee appraisal meetings and everyone has felt the pressure. Sure we have had budget cuts and expectations have increased. Fine. What confuses me is that my two main projects were delivered on time and to the complete satisfaction of the project team (i.e. according to the agreed targets in my objectives) ...but he still gave me 0% for both of them. Can he really do that? I spoke to several managers/people from my project teams and they confirmed (in writing too!) that they are really happy with my work.
My boss has had it in for me ever since I returned from maternity leave last year and we've had this new line manager above him. They've deducted my pay on a day when I was unable to to 'work' because I was sorting out IT problems with my work laptop and connections. I asked them to let me know exactly what they expect from me (if achieving my objective targets isn't enough) so that I can work towards it; they ignored my question for two months and then reported me to HR and threatened my job .
I'm working my backside off and doing my best... Is there something I could be overlooking or is/are my boss/es just being @$$hol3$?
They've been giving an internally employed guy in my team a really hard time as well, and so he's found another job. Another internally employed team member is also getting a rough time (as she has subtly communicated after our appraisal sessions).
They've been talking about wanting to adopt an 'employee leasing model', which is allegedly cheaper for the company... Maybe they want to 'encourage' the internally employed staff out? Though this is somewhat illegal isn't it?
Anyhoo rant over.
Thanks in advance for your input and help.

My boss is just trying to cope, just like me. If I'm fair, he will be too.

I've never experienced this kind of atmosphere before.
I'll just carry on doing my best and hope that they realize that they are only providing me with very good evidence for a law suit. Not that I want to take it that far. I just want to work and be left to do a good job. My boss is actually a pretty nice person, and I'm sure he's having a tough time too, but that doesn't mean he needs to behave that way.
Anyhoo, I'm glad for all of you who have nice bosses

My boss is charming, intelligent and an altogether delightful human being.
