My thanks was for the Guillemots by the way - great track - Terry did you go and see them at the Abart earlier this year? great gig

Edit: but when did the guillemots win the Mercury Prize? I don;t recall it and checking on Wikipedia it seems they were only nominated in 06, Monkeys won it

Yeah you're right, the Monkeys did win it... Guillemots were my vote and I managed to convince myself I was right..

(I also wanted Maximo Park to win it the year A&J got it, always the bridesmaid...)

Ween are fabulous, excellent choice

Just for being the single, greatest singer songwriter of his generation.. (yes, better than Jeff Buckley, there, I said it...)

Elliott Smith - Waltz #2

(not his greatest stuff, but there's no decent vids for Junk Bond Trader, Wouldn't Mama Be Proud, Twilight, Coast To Coast, or Pretty (Ugly Before), anywhere to be found )

Re: Song of the day

This alone justifies the need for subwoofers. I hope Lauryn gets her act together soon. We need more like this.

i try again. it's a good job the record companies provide us with such a good service and take these down so quickly, otherwise there would never be any creativity in music.

Re: Song of the day

Wow, they're still going at 2.20 am Good effort, EMI...

Elliott was clearly better, or they'd have left it up (he has a very recognisable chin)

here ya go - should work

(it must have been either this one or Mojo Pin...)

Re: Song of the day

Elliott vs. Jeff, interesting discussion, despite just having gotten goose bumps (Hallelujah!), I vote for the former.

But, that was Last Nite, time for a new day:
