Re: Song of the day

When I was young, I used to play piano ( badly) but tho second half on this used to totally send me. The ex-drummer of Supertramp came to stay with us, he drummed constantly, with anything that came to hand which was kind of annoying at times even though he could really drum, but he was a nice guy, gave me a pullover for my 14th birthday.
To my mind this is one of the best pieces of rock piano ever

Nice story, and nice to hear one of the less often played tracks from Breakfast in America.

Re: Song of the day

i feel the influence of Duran Duran here...

on the other side of the Atlantic more and more bands inspired by british synth-pop of 80s... eventually they did learn

I can't let anyone usurp Porcupine Tree as my #1 musical choice, but my pals from Poland get pretty close at #2 in my current list of favorites.

I tried to like Porcupine Tree but I find their songs too long and too similar to one another...great hardworking musicians but too much Pink-Floyd and ...a bit boring as well IMO
They should have done more things like Piano Lessons...that i guess die-hard fans dislike

A classic version from Alex Harvey
I'm not so sure about the other three versions though

Re: Song of the day

After an almost 10 year lapse I was re-introduced to Karaoke last Friday night with some fellow EF'ers... it was excellent, and made me want more...
Last night a friend brought me to KARAOKE FROM HELL at the Mascotte and I sang this song

I cannot tell you how AMAZING it was to have a real LIVE BAND playing behind me.. they were so freaking talented it was a dream.....

Re: Song of the day

For some reason, this 1982 song came to my mind today

D Ph Lyrics - I Won't Let You Down

You ask me if I'm happy here,
No Doubt about it,
You ask me if my love is clear,
Want me to shout it.
Gave you the best years of my life, woman.
I know I failed to treat you right, but woman,
Don't let me out of here,
Oh, don't let me out of here.

I won't let you down, I won't let you down again.
I won't let you down, I won't let you down again.

You say our love is running one way,
Coming from your side,
No help from me to see it through,
To beat the high tide.
Take me and chain me if you please, woman
Don't help me dig deeper my grave, oh woman,
Don't let me out of here.
Oh, don't let me out of here.

I won't let you down, I won't let you down again.
I won't let you down, I won't let you down again.

I won't let you down, I won't let you down again.
I won't let you down, I won't let you down again.

I haven't heard that in years.

Here is a track that people will either love or hate. Either way, you probably won't get it out of your head.

And another from them:

Now, what happened to those old Christmas lights from Bahnhofstrasse?
