Musicchick - you are really educating me with some of the great songs you post on here - (I have to confess that most of them I have never heard of)
Get well soon x
Aw, thanks, smackerjack, you are too kind.
I just found this, don't get scared by the video, it's a bit odd, but I love it, makes me miss my teaching.
That must be the Manc in me showing (oh, and my age )
Nice chilled stuff for a Friday afternoon.
I'm guessing you must like Sigur Ros too?
They are ok, his solo stuff ain't bad either. It's a bit too fairy pour moi..I went to Manc quite a bit, actually, from Poulton, when all the Brit guitar stuff was raging..lovely market with vinyls, etc. Awesome accent, warm folks.
ok, some more aquatic stuffs..the prawno made me chuckle, I am still laughing.
A total sell out, but nicely chippin' in the world of hot redheads..
My girlfriend and I went out for dinner last night with five Swiss friends, after dinner we invaded the hotel cellar bar which was actually closed but they opened it because we had eaten in the hotel restaurant. The video jukebox was still on so………yes you've guessed already...........have alcohol………will get sloppy.
We lost my father last year and I couldn't quite understand when other people said they couldn't listen to certain songs because it brought so many memories (good or bad) flooding back.
At the time I thought exactly the same, but now I feel the opposite.
I think (and this is only my personal opinion), to associate someone's memory with a living, moving picture has helped me to deal with it.
For me is this 2 that always bring back memories of my family. If they come on the ipod when is random mode.. i start to think of them.
Im really grateful that they are still in my life and i cant wait to get back home and shared all that i have seen and lived here in Switzerland
This song belongs to my lovely friend, who was in a horrific car accident. She survived, her unborn baby (32 weeks) was killed....I held that baby in my hands and helped his mother bury him...life can never be the same...
Several occasions made me a frequent visitor to facilities where it's handy to know how to open a door with the elbow. Not the bathroom.. Mainly due to the risky lifestyle of family members and their passion for extremsport. Radio song, but the lyrics are to the point.
(oh, ok. no need to post) Kittster already posted the Fray song.
The late 80's/early 90's: in the car with my parents. Endless discussions... Cassette player. Childhood.
Dissolving the cord seat upholstry with my hands - devaluating the resale value of a BMW significantly and giving a sh** about it. Kate Bush - Wuthering Heights
Have you heard the great news? Pulp have reformed (well since a few months now):
Naturally Pulp are mostly known for one song. But as Jarvis rightly put it at Reading when he introduced the song: "If Pulp are only ever remembered for this song...I don’t care...It’s a good song...You know... Black Lace are only remembered for Agadoo...So it could be a lot worse”
Here are two less well known songs from Pulp that are IMO quite good (and are trademark Pulp: light disco music with dark lyrics)
