I go MENTAL when this comes on and I know every word - Chesney Hawkes - The One and Only

Re: Song of the day

I saw Chesney Hawkes live in a club in Cambridge last year - nobody even realised it was him until he did One And Only, hahaha

Um, OK then, Stock Aitken Waterman isn't my strongest suit so I'm going to go with an 80's classic instead...

Joe Jackson - It's Different For Girls

Oh yea.. Joe Jackson..!! man does that bring back memories..!!! I saw Joe Jackson at The Old Waldorf in San Francisco back in 1979 during his Look Sharp tour. He was playing 2 shows that evening, one at 8 and the other at 11 and of course yours truly had tickets for both shows The club was a killer place to see a band play since it only had seating for around 200-250 with a stage that was less than 2 feet high. For the first show I sat to the back (maybe 20' from the stage) but when everyone got up to leave I headed straight for the seat that was an arm's length from Joe, that second show was the icing on the cake. Nothing more memorial than seeing a great like JJ playing twice in one night..!!

Oh goodness. First record I ever bought was Laurie Anderson's 'O Superman'. I shan't bother providing the video. I loved it, and still do, but wouldn't expect anyone else to feel the same about it...

Re: Song of the day

If we're religiously sticking to "first song I ever purchased", then how about;

The Waterboys - Whole of the Moon

(apologies for the very scary ginger at the beginning of the vid)

Re: Song of the day

Here's a song off this album that my bro and I used to have when I was a much younger Mikey...

Benny Hill - Ernie, The Fastest Milkman in the West

This LP had other greats like:
Rolf Harris - Two Little Boys
Clive Dunn - Grandad

I wonder if my folks still have it!!
