wow, I'm not the only person around who remembers The Longpigs then?!
Nope, I remember them too and was actually gonna suggest this to Terry!!

I saw them at one of the V festivals, they were awesome!! Love their stuff and I miss them!!

And here's my offering for today:
Doves - The Cedar Room (happens to be one of my most favourite songs ever - hopefully not a repeat posting!!)

Re: Song of the day

I was going to put this one up, a live version of Lost Myself on TFI Friday...

I'm sure there was an alternative video to On And On, I thought they did one where he was sat on his own in an airport terminal deadpanning to camera in one long take - hunted around but couldn't find it so I might be dreaming

Today's tune anyway - excellent song, and proof that it's always cool to screw up live...

Sondre Lerche - Track You Down

...I don't want to want you to go, but I fear you've left me with no options...

edit - arrrrggggghhh, there's a jump at about 3.50 which misses the best part of the song

Re: Song of the day

Worth it just for the interview. Seeing this at 11 years old, both disturbed and intrigued me, and ended any interest in ABBA

It's from Countdown (Australia's Top of the Pops) in 1979.

I have no idea what they're up to now. I saw them in Leicester. I think it was around 95-96. It was absolutely packed and I was right at the front. Unfortunately, the stage was quite low (about waist height and if you've ever met me, you'll know that that is low). So as everyone was pushing from the back I kept ending up in a very compromising position with my whole top half flat out on the stage, face down. Eventually I just had enough so I got up on the stage and after dancing around like an idiot for a while, sat cross-legged next to Crispins mike stand. Unfortunately, it was before the days of digital cameras

When there's music there's always dancing to go with it. Here's a little dance I thought you might get a kick out of..

This song has been haunting my dreams for the last week or so (for which I'm grateful to DanielL):

Laura Marling - Night Terror

Re: Song of the day

Thanks for that Konijn, interestingly Laura Marling's 'New Romantic' has been haunting my week....she's a powerful singer for someone so young.

You must have missed me posting her Ghosts in here a few weeks ago, then

Seeing as she turns 46 today,

Sheryl Crow - Every Day Is A Winding Road

Tried posting this on Saturday but ran out of time and had to get a train:

Wanted to post Reverend Black Grape but there's only live versions of it, so you lot can make do with Kelly's Heroes!

Not even slightly safe for work

Since I've already posted Beastie Boys - Sabotage, last week, I'll continue on the "police in the video" theme with the classic

NWA - Straight Outta Compton

Re: Song of the day

I know it's bad form to double post but this song rules so hard I had to put it in...

The Mock Turtles - Can You Dig It?

Can you dig it, what I'm saying? One little kiss isn't everything, you keep insisting on everything, I won't be sad....but someone turned the lights off...

Re: Song of the day

Thought I'd post this.

These guys have been mates of mine since I first came to Switzerland about 8 years ago. They got together as "The Passengers" a year or so ago and have just got their latest song onto youtube.

(Mark (the singer) is also the singer of Inna Crisis which is why there are so many links to them on this page)

Your opinions would be greatly appreciated!

Ta
