Two of my favourite bands. That is an immense mix. Will have to try and download it somewhere.

The below is one of my favourite Friday songs at the moment. I'm a huge Libertines fan, so this always gets me sorted for the weekend!

'Lucky you' - 'Indie' (I suppose)

This song is by the National who are one of my favourite songs, they are an American Indie band who are very musically talented and sing songs that are full of irony and intelligent lyrics. This is from their first album 'Dirty songs for dirty lovers'.

Please enjoy this beautiful band.

The video is nice too.

i will keep on posting songs until peopl come back at me and open my ears.

Re: Song of the day

First saw this band on Jools Holland ages ago, very original and fun. Not the best video admittedly, but a sure fire hit in 2010.

This reminds me of one I used to hear every Christmas... FairyTale Of New York, his voice is really distinctive, in a drunken kinda way.

Re: Song of the day

I'm sittin' in the railway station
Got a ticket for my destination
On a tour of one night stands
My suitcase and guitar in hand
And every stop is neatly planned
For a poet and a one man band

Homeward bound
I wish I was
Homeward bound
Home, where my thought's escaping
Home, where my music's playing
Home, where my love lies waiting
Silently for me

Everyday's an endless stream
Of cigarettes and magazines
And each town looks the same to me
The movies and the factories
And every stranger's face I see
Reminds me that I long to be

Homeward bound
I wish I was
Homeward bound
Home, where my thought's escaping
Home, where my music's playing
Home, where my love lies waiting
Silently for me

Tonight I'll sing my songs again
I'll play the game and pretend
But all my words come back to me
In shades of mediocrity
Like emptyness in harmony
I need someone to comfort me

Homeward bound
I wish I was
Homeward bound
Home, where my thought's escaping
Home, where my music's playing
Home, where my love lies waiting
Silently for me
Silently for me
Silently for me

Re: Song of the day

Wow, still alive - and with Britpop, too

I'll go for this one which I spent the last 8 months or so (?) learning to cover badly since hearing her play in Mascotte last year.

Restlessness is me, you see, it's hard to be safe, it's difficult to be happy

And one more, to past acquaintances (even found the original pre-album version for ultimate music geek skillz)

You've got your airplane, and I've got the plain air of here... I'm just some new kid who can't get his mind off of you, and I know that it's stupid....

Song of the day...counting down

See more of the people and the places that surround me now
Freeze this moment a little bit longer
Make each impression a little bit stronger
I'm not looking back
But I want to look around me now
(Time stand still)
