I can't make the next Underground Sessions on the 13th March, but (assuming it gets posted up on here this time) you could see something this cool if you go along...

KD Lang - Halleluja, as performed at the Olympics Opening Ceremony.

The Olympic Committee seem to be doing their best to block and versions from the opening ceremony itself.

This version is dedicated to Nodar Kumaristashvili who was killed during training for the Luge.

Definetly not as good as the original John Cale version

Re: Song of the day

I'm consistently told this is a miserable song, but I still say it is one of the best love songs I've ever heard.

I wanna stay out all night with you
Yeah you make my world alright

No sun was up today, we didn't mind
Too busy making the rain shine

Any from David Fonseca, this one is when he still was in Silence4. One of my favorites:

Yes I know I was only messing about...

I previously wrote something about this on the cover thread:
the cover thread

Although they are all technically covering a Leonard Cohen song they are all singing it in the John Cale way.

...Well that isn't entirely true, some are singing it in the Jeff Buckley way...Which was itself copied on the John Cale version.

Re: Song of the day

Saw Bat for Lashes live for the first time last night. I don't know how I have missed them for so long. Elements of Bjork, Stevie Nicks, Kate Bush and others but totally original.

The played their set in preparation for their S. American tour, supporting Coldplay. Then lead singer, Natasha Khan, played a one-off special solo set with a string quartet backing. Magical.

This is Daniel from 'Two Suns'

Re: Song of the day

This one probably deserves to be in the Youtube of the day thread aswell.

Fresh Prince goes Gangsta...

What the theme to the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air would sound like, if he'd hung around Philly a bit longer.
