Re: Song of the day

Thank you Sky - Sorry, I should have quoted instead of responding - I was referring to the Rose - Mrs Chester was given a copy by her mother on her wedding day - I havn't listened to it all the way through yet. Not sure its my cup of tea.

Re: Song of the day

moving back to Ireland soon and with this wet 'n' cold weather, I am in the mood for a quiet pub, a warm fire, a good pint of guinness and a musician singing beautiful songs in the corner - food for the soul..

My current favorite from the prog rock scene, these guys from Poland really kick, saw them play in Basel a couple of weeks ago:
Good stuff. Just listened to some of their other tracks. I thought prog rock had died years ago.

A TEENAGE pianist was last night crowned the BBC Young Musician 2010 following a hard-fought and tense final at Cardiff’s Wales Millennium Centre.
Lara Ömeroglu, 16, from Watford, thrilled judges with her accomplished performance to triumph over fellow finalists, flautist Emma Halnan and violinist Callum Smart.
This was when she was 14 I love it when I see the fingers move like dancing spiders up and down the keyboard!:

I watched it hoppy.

I thought her choice of Saint Saen's Piano Concerto in G Minor was extremely brave. It is one of the most technically demanding concertos ever, very flashy and its a do or die for anyone who chooses to perform it. hats off to her, I wasnt really impressed with her Chopin performance at the semi finals but she blew me away last night! Definitely my song of the day!

She is fabulous, we watched her yesterday winning the BBC prize, she coasted through enjoying it so much. I know another person who can play this Saint-Saëns but not even close to what we heard yesterday. Makes me want to play our horrific piano everyday again....

George Street is in the centre of Hastings Old Town, somewhat similar to Niederdorfstrasse in Zurich. Are there any songs about your home town?

Re: Song of the day

One decent track on the whole new Goldfrapp CD "Head First", such a shame after the "Seventh Tree", where every song touched a nerve.

I agree, Seventh Tree was great, every song.. haven't heard the whole of Head First, but.. yeah, Seventh Tree is a hard one to follow.
