Man I love that song. I mean seriously, it makes my face hurt it's that good. (easy to play, but a bitch to sing. That man can do falsetto
)
Um....
Garbage - Only Happy When It Rains
(was going to put some Idlewild, but all I could find was stuff from 2001 so it doesn't count as "pure" Britpop
)

One of my most favourite songs ever!!
I still listen to most of these classics, it's like I'm still in the 90's!!
Loved Garbage too! I remember getting into them straight away at college!

A band that spanned Britpop nicely...one of their 93-97 classics...

Re: Song of the day
wow, britpop explosion! takes me back; i think in the space of one afternoon you've played the entire contents of my favourite mix tape from a friend last decade!
nicky: i consider the great eastern to be one of the best albums i own.
i hope we haven't missed this (or maybe i missed it and it's been done before...):
there was a documentary a while back about jarvis cocker going to try and find the girl from greece.

Re: Song of the day
Can't believe this lot haven't been mentioned yet!! (unless I missed it)
I was meant to be seeing them on the 15th November but one of them broke an arm
Was doubly gutted cos my mate's brother-in-law's band (The Fast Camels - ace, check them out) were gonna be supporting them at the Shepherds Bush Empire.

The third verse and second chorus are what make that a great song...some of his best lyrics too...
Like a dog lying in a corner They will bite you and never warn you Look out! They'll tear your insides out Cos everybody hates a tourist Especially one who thinks it's all such a laugh And the chip stains and grease will come out in the bath You will never understand how it feels to live your life With no meaning or control and with nowhere else to go You are amazed that they exist And they burn so bright whilst you can only wonder why...
Legendary stuff.
