Re: Song of the day

I hope the NEW NEW thread can have life again too! It was a great idea gastrognome! - It should be deleted every 6 months though to keep it fresh.

Thanks!

I've PM-ed the mod who merged it . . . fingers crossed.

Good idea about the post deletion.

BTW . . . if anyone's wondering why I suddenly demanded new tunes, that was a new thread specifically for that, until it was savagely merged into the current thread. Looks a bit incongruous now and I'm hopeful the NEW NEW thread can have new life again.
Ha ha. I saw your post about only posting new music and thought WTF? Glad it was a misunderstanding. I had this song all ready to go in response (NSFW)

Re: Song of the day

Well, apparently the mod doesn't want to police a new music thread on the grounds that they wouldn't know what's new and what wasn't. I'm not sure the thread needs that kind of mod attention . . .

Anyway . . . here's another new one.

Great new song and vid from Miike Snow. I expect to hear this everywhere this Summer.

I think it sounds like a great idea for a new thread.

And I agree that it couldn't possibly require that much moderation. I'd expect it would be pretty much self-moderated by all you new music connoiseurs.

i think the trouble might be that, what's "new" now, ceases to be new later. whereas, "song of the day" is generally encompassing.

Also there is the variations of 'newly released' 'new to You Tube' 'New version of an old song' etc.

It is easy to add a comment in Song of the Day such as 'This is the latest offering from...' 'New is a brand new band' etc.

Re: Song of the day

if there're no lyrics, can we call it song?? :P

nevermind the rude band name, this is berlin's finest, accompanied by some really funky disco roller-skating

Re: Song of the day

5 am jazzy blues, dark smoky stage, a lone soloist,
a morning shift ol'man sweepin' up the remnants,
the breaking light of day a little too bright,
black n' white, no color,
just some left over thoughts,

I love the aura of your last selection, Hoppy

How is this a problem? As long as the first posts you see in a thread are up to date . . .

Nah . . . If I come to the song of the day I end up going through lots of old stuff. That's fine but it's absolutely no good for keeping up to date with new music.
