Re: Song of the day

Sky, Eric Clapton write that song about his wife Patty Boyd, whom he pursued relentlessly while she was married to George Harrison. Neither of those marriages ended well.

I think a bit of modern punk would suit them better (especially DB ). And it suits my mood today too.

Do you remember when you were young and you wanted to set the world on fire?

Re: Song of the day

Over the last year I've met many Canadians in Zürich, most of them EFers.

In tribute to all these delightful people I'll be posting Canadian tunes this week . . . Gastro Gnome's Maple Leaf Music Week.

First up, who remembers Electroclash? It was fun while it lasted. Here's an energetic and entirely NSFW performance from two of Toronto's finest:

Re: Song of the day

GG's MLMW Part 2

Danceable stuff today, if not exactly dance music . . .

Death From Above 1979

And that song was sampled by Crystal Castles in this song:

Jesse Keeler from DFA, went on to form MSTRKRFT which moved away from rock towards dance . . .

One of my first concerts was to see Terence play the Cornwall Coliseum near St. Austell back around '87

Re: Song of the day

We went to the castle in Aigle in Vaud a few weeks ago and watched the film there on the winemaking in Swiss Romande - loved the accompanying music - Iris by Wim Mertens.
