OK so I thought since there are a lot of music fans here we could run a "Song of the Day" thread same as the Pic of the Day, Youtube of the Day etc,

I'll start with a song I first heard on Zane Lowe's show on Radio 1 a couple of years ago, bought the album as soon as it came out, and then lost it in Exeter when I moved here

This was probably my favourite song of 2006.

Scott Matthews - Elusive

Favourite lyrics;

"Something says this ain't right, there's more to her than meets the eye..."
Absolute goldie mate, had it stuck in my head for the entire flight first time I came over. Had been apart from the trouble n strife for a whole 5 weeks....

Never do that again....

Re: Song of the day

Part 3 of the MLMW . . . There seems to be particularly strong lesbian and gay representation in Canadian music . . .

Katie Sketch from Vancouver formed The Organ in 2001 with a deliberately retro eighties indie sound:

The Hidden Cameras here with a nicely nutso video:

Owen Pallett played violin for the Hidden Cameras, occasionally, but is now probably even more successful. He released his solo stuff first as Final Fantasy, but now uses his own name:

Some Canadian bands that put the F in Friday.

The singer once threw a light at my head.

And something a bit calmer before bed . . .

Re: Song of the day

Sorry, love, but that is not a summersmily song.

Rather funearial to me. Especially with the person coughing in the middle.

But each to their own.....
