Re: Song of the day

I keep trying to find a better song than this, then I think I found it and listen to this again...and nope, it wins every time...

Counting Crows - Mrs Potters Lullaby

It's 7 minutes long so I won't post all the lyrics, but they are so, so good....my favourite part is

All the blue light reflections that colour my mind when I sleep, and the lovesick rejections that accompany the company I keep, all the razor perceptions that cut just a little too deep, hey, I can bleed as well as anyone, but I need someone to help me sleep...

I've had this one in my head all day, the perfect cure for seasonal moodswings:

"I've had a hole in my heart for so long, I've learned to fake it and just smile along..."

Over a drunken jukebox conversation this weekend, me and my friends were trying to hit the Most Emo Song Ever...we ended up split 3 vs 3 on these 2 options...casting vote goes to EF

Staind - It's Been Awhile

Puddle of Mudd - Blurry

Re: Song of the day

As requested (I actually do quite like MCR...). This one covers about 4 genres in one tune, and still sounds cohesive. Not easily done!

Have some of the Enemy - Away From Here. Rather like this lot, saw them supporting the Futureheads and it's one of those tracks that kinda grabs hold of you and gives you a good shake!!

Re: Song of the day

Have been doing some "Cheerful Song" hunting for things to learn pre-Xmas bash over the past week, and I reminded myself of this little beauty - not easy to play or sing, but one of the great anti-war songs out there. Also one of the most "natural" choruses I've ever heard. Brilliant.

Dispatch - The General

Re: Song of the day

Hehe I consider myself lucky enough to have seen it in the flesh!

On a song of the day kinda note, Sam and I have had a couple of drunken conversations about being indie djs, want in? Wonder if there's anywhere in Zug we could start one...?

I prefer "We're all orf to Margate", but that is a classic

I also defy anyone to not find this a "bounce around" track

OK so I thought since there are a lot of music fans here we could run a "Song of the Day" thread same as the Pic of the Day, Youtube of the Day etc,

I'll start with a song I first heard on Zane Lowe's show on Radio 1 a couple of years ago, bought the album as soon as it came out, and then lost it in Exeter when I moved here

This was probably my favourite song of 2006.

Scott Matthews - Elusive

Favourite lyrics;

"Something says this ain't right, there's more to her than meets the eye..."
hi,i'm new man .i'm very glad to see you .
