| | Re: The iPhone 3G thread and FAQ Swiss care? What an oxymoron. "Cannot" and "Not Possible" are the first words uttered by Swiss babies. Well trained. Still waiting for my 16G even thought I own an 8G. I know that I have 14 days to return a phone to the Swisscom shop - no questions asked (of course it has to be in new condition). I was told I'm in the first hundred at the Rue Du Marche shop in Geneva (reservation on 8 July). Not much hope to receive the 16G before three weeks given how few they seem to receive. I love the 8G iPhone. By the way, anyone in Geneva who has a black 16G and wants the 8G? I can pay for the CHF100 difference. Yesterday I had everything (3G, WiFi, Location Services) on and it killed the battery. I turned them all off today and see an almost 100% increase in battery life. I read somewhere the battery life improves after a few charges. Time will tell. |

You are probably right, but can't hurt to ask.

Went to the Orange shop at the airport to order one for my wife and one for me. It seems business is doing good, as the arrogant bahstard treated me like scum:
As a Orange customer (since almost 5 years) I would need to pay around 439 Chf to upgrade to an iPhone, as a new customer I would only need to pay around 140 Chf. I asked the guy WTF? thats what I get for being a loyal Orange customer? His eyes just rolled up and his eye browes twisted as the bahstard stared at me and said in very arrogant tone "the idea is to increase the customer base, it is not meant for existing customers" ... I told the guy that with that attitude I am better off to Swisscom ... "As you wish" he replied, turned his back and left me standing there. |

I don't know about Orange, but Swisscom customers on contracts that last longer than 3 months don't get a special offer yet. Swisscom has announced that they will give them better conditions later. This behavior is obviously caused by the scarcity of iPhones in Switzerland.

I think its due to everybody pestering them about it, so they are probably getting quite sick about ppl asking for it..

From a pure business point of view it makes perfect sense, but obviously the current customers aren't always going to see it that way...

I has my first spam today offering me "longer iPhone battery life".
I now truly believe the iPhone has come of age and future generations will name a star constellation in it's hallowed memory.

No it's not a joke
At least myself , I do not believe that Swiss Service Providers or Vendors are treating their customers as they must. If this organisation helps me to get what I expect ; why not ? | Quote: | | | | | Why? Is this a joke? | | | | | |

If I were a Swisscom/Orange salesman right now, every morning I'd be looking forward to the cool beer at the end of the day as a counteractive measure to all the increasingly frustrated fanboi-s who just won't go away and wait patiently |

You can see on the ombudsman's website that he usually deals with phone and SMS fraud, billing problems etc... not with rude employees.
In fact, the situation hasn't changed. There was an absence of special offers for customers in long term contracts for years, it's just that for the first time half of Switzerland is after a phone. | Quote: | | | | | If I were a Swisscom/Orange salesman right now, every morning I'd be looking forward to the cool beer at the end of the day as a counteractive measure to all the increasingly frustrated fanboi-s who just won't go away and wait patiently | | | | | I know one and am waiting for the day where he has had one "I've mailed Swisscom six months ago, my name should be on top of that list"-customers too many |

| | Re: The iPhone 3G thread and FAQ Supply info: I originally reserved a phone at the local Orange shop, but only had to give my name and number. After that I reserved and paid online, thinking it would be quicker to get one mail order.
Wrong The local shop just mailed me to say they have one in stock with my name on, but given I have already agreed a contract with orange.ch I have to wait for that to arrive. The local guy said that my order should be with me this week as orange.ch have more stock. I reserved on the Thursday the minute the email hit my inbox...

Now that the dust has settled, I think I'll mosey on down to an Orange store and enquire about an iPhone. The only issue is that I'm going to be on holiday as of next Friday (25/7) for two weeks. Should I wait until after I get back and stocks are replenished, or should I place my order before I leave?

If were we able to get rid of each rude employee with the help of the ombudsman, who would be left working in Switzerland?
Anyone had time to play around with the aGPS? I find it really lags. The system is really bad (I had an HTC Touch Cruise with Tomtom before).
Cannot wait for a third party navigation app with turn by turn directions and route correction if you wander off the proposed path.

I also don't understand why you were trying to involve me in it. I'm quite happy to sit tight and wait and have never indicated otherwise.

Hey you guys who have activated your phones! I got my 16gb black phone today (after a call from Orange) but as I'm transferring my number from Swisscom so the sim won't work until the 24th.
Will I be able to activate my phone without the simcard and just use the wireless stuff on it?
And if anyone offers to take it off my hands I will punch them in the c*ck.
