Bear in mind, tests have shown that it has among the best battery life of comparable devices. If I run 3G and wifi on my TYTN II the battery doesn't last the distance and I can do half the things on my HTC than I will be able to on my iphone, if it ever comes
I think that's the point - how does it compare to equivalent devices? Of course Apple think it's favourable, but I think also PC Magazine ran a test showing that it out performed other equivalent phones (could be wrong on the source, can't remember exactly). If users are showing the same results then it seems to be pretty clear cut to me.

If battery life is short, but I know that it's better than the competition, then I could live with that. Like Robban, I'm still waiting for mine, so I look forward to being able to test this for myself...

Yep, from post 416 on this thread, the test is now updated - Not sure if comparing the iphone to Blackberry Curve is apples and apples...

Orange contacted me last week, for some reason they had invented a new surname for me which barely resembles my own, hence the 'delay'...

They contacted me as well as they needed a copy of my B-Permit, which I duly emailed to them. Looking on the bright side, at least it means my order hasn't been lost (which I was starting to wonder about), of course on the other side this has also delayed the order even more...

It more or less comes down to usage in my experience. Standby does not seem to drain the battery at all, while 3G and WiFi eats away at the green bar after just a few minutes.

I have to charge it daily on average, and that is with push e-mail turned off but with using it to listen to audio constantly throughout the day. I would have to work really hard to deplete it completely in one day so I'm not concerned.
exactly my concerns...

and i dont get why swisscom sucks that much out of their clients?

25chf for 24months, 290CHF sub, traffic/fon generated money, and still they want from existing clients more money, want them 390CHf to pay?
ill go n check what id be up to with a general bill of 120-150CHF/month.
if they want 390CHF i quit this contract n get a new sim card. bonkers to inform all contacts about nu fon numberr...damn. maybe its better to spend a 100CHF more saving me from this crap...

Did you have a look at the Orange prices? They offer 12 month subscriptions as well, and are generally cheaper as I see it.

1password is an excellent app, and they have recently released an iPhone version. It's not free though.

I haven't been able to test it yet, as I am still waiting for the bloody phone to be delivered. However if it performs like the desktop version, it should be pretty good.

It's free for a limited time, I'm not sure if that means download now and you never pay for it or if it will lock out later

iPhone 3g or an old unlocked one? For the old ones, there's a patch to fix this problem in the installer app. On the 3g the issue seems to have been fixed

I can't sync it with the desktop app. It seems it needs a newer version in order to work but none is available so far.

I'm using splash ID and am quite happy with it

3G, I checked the dir permissions and they are the same as those set by the patch available via installer.app for 1st gen already.

How did you check the permissions?

The safari problem on the 2g iPhone was caused by the jailbreak process - it's really strange that this should happen with a normal iPhone 3g. Have you called apple yet?

Using mobile terminal, I have a jailbroken 3G.

It seems the earlier mentioned 1password needs a Mac to work

I guess the jailbreak caused the issue.

Yes, 1passwd desktop only works on macs. Splash id works on most platforms (both mobile and desktop) that's why I chose it in the first place. It's overpriced, though
