its official. At Stadelhofen where the WLAN interface picks up Monsoon (McDonalds) but without being authorised to use it. I write a mail on the Exchange account and it gets lost. If I write a mail on the Exchange account where I only have 3G and close the mail program before its sent the mail doesn't get lost. Happened with the last two emails I am missing (Stadelhofen and Airport).
Do apple have a bug-page?
Rgds
HTD | | | | | For HTD and others having email problems - I haven't looked at this in any depth, but have you checked out the Enterprise page on the Apple site, and / or the iPhone Configuration utility that's also on there? No idea if it's useful for your problem, but might be worth a look, there are a few links on there....

Most probably all the points have been covered already, but Wired has a rather good page of Howtos for the iPhone.

I got REALLY lucky i guess, was only about a week...
It seems the 16gb, white iPhone is really unpopular here, so if you want one quick and happen to think it is more aesthetically pleasing (which i do), then that's your best bet.

An interesting thing, for those of us with corporate Swisscom contracts : I went in a Swisscom shop, asked about iPhone availability, was told about around two weeks wait time. I then had a chat with the sales person, during which I mentioned the fact that I had a corporate contract, she smiled at me, went in the back of the shop, and came back with .... an iPhone for me ! :-)

Actually, I got the feeling I was judged a bit before Orange would give me my phone (I hadn't pre-ordered and walked into the shop). The assistant who was dealing with me first checked with her supervisor when I said I wanted the 16GB black, he looked me up and down, thought for a moment, then nodded to the assistant.
I thought he was wondering if I would just grab the box and do a runner from the shop.

Hey I got an iPhone 3g from orange with the optima 100 plan and i noticed that everytime that I call somebody the usage in the options --> general options adds a minute even if I don't call for 1 minute. So an example is I had 19 minutes then called my friend to tell him I would meet him at the haupt bahnhof (it took like 20 seconds) and in the end i had 20 minutes. This happens every time. Is it normal or what?

I tried the same because I had to get a Mobile Unlimited subscription for a co-worker (I'm the head of the IT department) and Swisscom told me I had no right to get a phone for a company contract and that the person responsible in my company (which is someone in accounting, in this case) had to buy the phone for me.

peter | | | | | I did two things :
- Through my company, asked to have the data option added to my phone subscription. You can't modify anything related to your corporate contract yourself, this has to go through your company's contact person.
- I then went to the store, and privately bought the iPhone with a prepaid contract (CHF 619.-) I never activated the prepaid contract and just put my company SIM card in the phone.
This could of course be much simpler & cheaper for you if your company agrees to buy the iPhone for you (not my case) but then you can't do it yourself.

Backup won't restore. The worst thing: once I had done a factory restore, it delete all of my apps on iTunes as well - now I don't have Netshare anymore which I used every single day every since it was released.
I'm seriously pi**ed. And as a warning to all: make sure you have your data backed up somewhere outside of iTunes - restores very often will fail (as I had to learn through several forum posts)
I'll be using my old blackberry curve again until Apple gets its act together and finally fixes the bugs :-(

I don't keep any valuable data on my phones, iPhone included. All that's on it comes from sync with either my laptop or my server and won't need to be restored.
Regarding netshare if you really depend on it, there's a way to get it back, but you have to be somehow technical and it is clearly illegal. The process involves jailbreaking your phone, replacing a library that checks for DRM on it, and then uploading a version of netshare that is floating around on the internet. Incidentally the same process will allow you to upload quite a lot of not free applications to your iphone ;-)
