Are you running the latest version of the iphone firmware 2.2.1?
Er no, my iphone is jailbroken, so still running 2.2.

It is also worth noting that POP3 has not been rolled out to Hotmail users worldwide, just those in the UK, Canada, Australia, France, Japan, Spain, Germany, Italy, and the Netherlands.
I just checked and it's registered to Switzerland. I suppose I could easily change this (back) to UK though. I'll wait until the 2.2.1 jailbreak comes out before doing anything though.

To hell with that. The free POP3-supported accounts on GMX do the job nicely.

I thought all updates have been cracked/jailbroken? I did mine a couple of weeks ago with the latest itunes version.

They probably have. What I meant to say was that I'll wait until 2.3 comes out and is jailbroken before going through the hassle of updating. The 2.2.1 update doesn't seem worth the hassle, though to have Hotmail access may change my mind.

Do you want to try the hotmail thing again, because recently I've also been getting a few "cannot get email" messages.

Re: The iPhone 3G thread and FAQ

Thanks Castro

I changed my location to UK a couple of days ago. First it didn't work and just now, on Castro's prompt, I tried again.

It works!

There is a small silver button on the side, at the top left of the phone, above the volume buttons. It is a two position thing and in one position it shows an orange dot. If you can see the orange dot, then the phone is in silent mode. Try that first :msn mad::msnsar castic:

As I found out, the iPod volume and Ringer Volume are different! Quit the iPod app and make sure it says "Ringer" while turning the volume up or down.

Re: The iPhone 3G thread and FAQ

I guess it would have helped had Apple included an instruction manual... not that I would have bothered to read it
