Basically, anybody who purchases one of these devices with their eyes open and having done their homework should have no complaints about functionality afterwards. Comparing one with the other is interesting, but at the end of the day simply shows that they are different, or more fit for a particular purpose, not that one is "better".
As a wise man said further up the thread - horses for courses. I've been checking out the Pre, and while I can see what it offers over and above the iPhone, none of it appeals to me, as I use the iPhone as my personal phone only.
Now if I had the freedom to choose my work phone, I'd be looking at the Pre in a whole different way.

However I didn't know what it meant not to have apps running in the background until I got the iPhone. Also, the usage of mobile instant messaging has skyrocketed in the last couple of months - so even if you didn't need background apps last year when you bought the phone, now you might.
But hey - it's not like the iPhone is a bad phone. There may simply be be better alternatives for certain people.

Well I got mine to replace my old SE a couple of moths ago, and after a few start up niggles... it's great. Battery life isn't great, not as good as Mama G's Nokia if she has similar usage, the camera could be better, but I have a great digi camera for wedding so i wouldn't use it for photo occasion just fun. The app are great, and once you get used to it, it's very user friendly.
Only 2 things are nipping me about it:
1. In the car, occasionally an incoming call is picked up by the bluetooth, and dis-appears, nothing from the car, nothing on the hand set even if I change it to handset. The call is there but I can't actually pick it up, I have to wait until the caller hangs up, outgoing is peachy.
2. When I got it and set up the Apple ID I incorrctly entered the phone number. So on the phones display the number is incorrect, when calling anyone the correct number is displayed on there phone.
Data Quest in Zurich couldn't fix it, Mobile Zone said, send it to Data Quest...

Just a quick note to all that rely on Tramdroid. It's been updated and is now called "Wemlin", with a new icon.
I had a bit of a panic at the W/E. I normally "Update all" without giving it really much thought, and when I went to use Tramdroid I couldn't find it at first.
Just a heads up.

| | New Thread Please, iPhone Video (3rd gen)
The rumors are all over the Internet about the possible release of the new iPhone during the annual WWDC meeting on Monday night. Has anyone here in Switzerland or Europe heard if any of the local providers will have it or anything else about it?

Rumour also had it that it'll be introduced by Steve Jobs himself - However, I'll believe that when I see it.

Your computer has the ability to stream radio and TV shows therefore you should be paying billag for TV and radio anyway.

Then again, a few months ago I read he was dead, so who knows...

Hi,
so it looks like the iphone is still playing catch up with other phones. Voice commander, tom tom, wipe data etc. The only interesting thing was the price reduction.
Are they running out of ideas ?
Have fun
Martin
