I've seen a lot of anti-American (some humourous) posting as well as knocking others (like the Brits) and maybe especially the Swiss.

So I was wondering - do we have in-built social discrimination tendencies?

As for the Audi drivers, if you have lived in Switzerland for more than, say, ten years, you know that it very much depends on the color (of the car, of course!).

I'm sure one of the forum Gods can add an option for something like "no no no no, I don't discriminate at all!!"

I think it's fair to say that I treat everyone else differently to how I treat myself. As I'm sure we are all aware, everyone is unique, albeit in the most minute details.

Therefore, noone else is me, so I will discriminate against you all accordingly.

I never notice whether folk are right- or left-handed.
I haven't a clue what sort of car people own.

I couldn't possibly avoid the folk who have less money than I have as if I did, I would have no social contacts at all.

The bankers, IT specialists and folk with more money, they all avoid me.

I prefer Pole dancing

I don't discriminate at all unless they are left handed, redhaired, IT professionals working in a bank.....

I love to think (as I answered) that I do not "avoid social contact" with anyone in particular. As I think about that after having already voted though...

I would say that I tend to socialize LESS with folks who have more money as I feel they would want to do things I can not afford to do. If they're happy with my low budget ideas of entertainment I have no problem including them in my plans.


So far as everyone else goes though, lol.

If I discriminated against red heads or lefties that would leave both of my sisters out and I'd have to be upset with myself as well (being currently a red head as well as a life-long lefty).

Bankers and IT folks... Hmmm... As I know a few via WoW I am relatively sure that there will likely be some at the upcoming D&D event as well... since there will be something to talk about besides money and computers I'm sure there need be no social avoidance there.

I can understand, I've learnt to not talk about my work to anyone, sure they pretend to be interested, but it's so bloody technical most people can't relate to it at all, and their eyes soon glaze over.

Where's the option for sales and human resources?

Well, I must admit that I am a little biased about people of a certain nationality, but I would have checked also "stupid people" if it was in the list. Some prejudices are really hard to disappear.

if you think laterally, most stupid people are rich, poor, in IT or have red hair. Go mental - check the lot?
