I've mentioned this elsewhere on EF, but a particular favourite of mine is "please be upstanding" (for the national anthem, the bride, whatever).

I love the thought of someone asking people nicely to be fine citizens.

BTW, did you see that the whistleblowers in the recent Pfizer case were awarded something like US$160 million of the enormous pfine levied on Pfizer? Nice work if you can get it!

Oh, OK, only US$102 million -- I just checked. Hmmm, hardly worth it, really.

There's an epidemic of "painting pictures" and "taking people on a journey" around my office these days. Has the financial crisis turned management into a mystical experience?
