Stupid everyday expressions

Just heard one of these on the radio, an everday expression that people use but which when examined is pretty daft:

"I saw it with my own eyes" - yes really? as opposed to what possibly borrowing someone else's?

Any others out there?

When people say, "Wow, that was literally..." followed by something hyperbolic and figurative.

Re: Stupid everyday expressions

Or on business TV where the CEO of the company says "going forward" to describe the future.

When is the last time we heard someone talking about "going backward".

I am almost ill every-time I hear this term.

Aye, along with "call me", whilst making the thumb-and-little-finger phone gesture, or "email me" whilst typing on an imaginary keyboard.

Valid observation, Dervaish post seems to be a "Copy & Paste" from somewhere.

"Whatever" "Get a life" "Who gives a sh!te" Are all stupid everyday expressions. However sometimes, just sometimes, they are quite appropriate.

Re: Stupid everyday expressions

The phrase "to be honest" gets my goat every time I hear it or read it.
Does it mean the speaker or writer is usually freakin' lyin'?

(Sorry, SwissOtter, I had wanted to write this before I saw your post below.)
