Feeling the Autumn Blues? Books!!!

By chance I found the link above.

For 35 you can have a Bibliotherapy. According to your current moods and life style, they will compile a list of books.

Save the shrink and get a great list of books, personalized to your special situation.

Of course it's not "medical", but for the general ups and downs in life, I like the idea.

Re: Feeling the Autumn Blues? Books!!!

It's an interesting idea, but I've a better one:

Get a flight to one of the provincial airports of England or Wales, locate a small market town, find the second-hand/antiquarian book dealer, quietly step into the dim, dusty interior, inhale deeply (it's that smell...!), find the Travel/Topography section (or Cooking section, or Fishing section, or Natural History section, or whatever) and browse.

Spend the entire afternoon in there, accompanied by no sound louder than the ticking of a clock, the sucking of a boiled sweet and the occasional suppressed cough.

Choose a book, or two, or six, or twenty, to take to the counter.

Leave the bookshop and find a pub with an open fire or canalside location. Order a pint of Pedigree (or local (inferior) equivalent). Go to fireside/canalside table.

Say goodbye to autumn blues.

Superb - sounds as good as the above. I will do this, as I have anyway booked a flight in October.

Hope the weather is nice
