Re: Happy Thanksgiving

I can't wait until Nov. 26 for Us T-day...I always arrange a dinner and do some celebrating, my husband still thinks it is funny that I do it but he gets fully involve with all my excitement and preparations.

Hey Patxi...so if I am AA, can I be a Gringo? I never know the rules for these things . And if so does that make me an AA Gringo.

AA means?

(all I can think of is Alcoholics Anonymous)

Re: Happy Thanksgiving

I might be wrong but Mexicans use the word Gringo to describe somebody coming from the USA (from the song green grows the grass...hence gringo). In other parts of LatinAmerica it just means blond.
It is not inherently insulting unless you put another adjective next to it

Re: Happy Thanksgiving

Hosted a wonderful traditional Thanksgiving potluck last night. Was nice to introduce the tradition to some Germans.

Also tradition, looking forward to the leftovers tonight.

Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Since it's a holiday back home, football and hockey will be on here around 7pm tonight. Yay!
