Re: English Forum "Quote of the Day"

This must be saved for posterity - to show our children, and our children's children, the sort of lives we led in days of yore:

Ok, after going through some discussion on here it seems like the right place for curious and even bewildered individuals like me, who fail to see the bigger picture in life, to off load some of their hearts baggage and get an insight into other individual’s perspectives and even some mighty good advice.

To find answers to the questions which seem unanswerable in one person’s life and there seem to be no lack of talent on here, from mortgage advisers and advice on commodity trading to daily life agony aunts.

So here I am. I am actually stuck between 2 extreme situations, which I have come across in life and I fail to decide which direction to take.

First extreme was, my almost ex-wife, whom I had been married to for 1 year and known for 3 years decided to separate and going towards a divorce. It happened when I lost my job about a year ago amid the financial crisis. Apart from loosing my job my investments had also gone into negative equity. My ex still had a stable job in PR. At times like this one would expect their life partners to stand by them but, infact she suddenly changed. She got nastier towards me and trying to put me down every time she could and always telling me how successful her career is.

I did not ask her for any financial assistance, rather I tried to make out with whatever savings I had and even took out a bank loan hoping I will find a job sooner. The money didn’t last long given our lavish lifestyle. Apart from financial considerations, I also had to go through a lot of mental trauma and put downs on daily basis towards the end of it. Then upon getting to know she was going to leave me and was even talking about seeing other guys, I brought the relationship to an earlier than expected halt, in my frenzied state. It was a phase of total madness for me, I could have even ended up alcoholic, on the road if it wasn’t for my nice brother and his girlfriend who let me share their place and helped me get back to normality.

I have been dumped twice before, not a big deal, its part of life and I could deal with it, but what really hurt me was her attitude. It seemed like she had always been awaiting a time when she could treat me like that, put me down and break my ego. At times when even my casual friends and acquaintances, though didn’t help much practically, but did speak kindly and tried to encourage me, she was extracting some kind of vengeance. Despite the fact that I had always been nice with her, apart from sharing the rent and bills, I would always pay for meals, holidays, shopping etc if I was with her. I am not a stingy or a petty person and the only negative thing I can think of is, I can come across as a bit arrogant and very self-assured person, and it seemed like she was trying to break that. But for what and why? Especially after all her proclamations of love for me and what a wonderful person I am and how lucky she is to have me and the bullshit.

Fine **** happens, but then there are or were other extremes in my life.

After splitting and moving out, I would go to see my ex to discuss how to move forward and get a smooth and swift divorce and be done with it, trying to stay on friendly-ish terms with her for that. By that time she had a flatmate, a tall Norwegian blue-eyed brunette. We used to indulge in small talk during my visits there and once exchanged mobile numbers. One evening I was sitting in a bar, drinking as usual and I just texted her if she would want to join me. She agreed and came over. We drank, had a chit chat and then I was walking her to my ex’s place and on the way she was getting a bit frisky, clinging to my arm and pressing herself into me and we even kissed. I was just wanting to drop her off and be on my way, but right before we turned the corner to her place, I said I must leave now. She then started asking that I must come to her room and spend the night with her and she will be good to me. I replied that I do not want to complicate things with my ex. She still insisted that she is seeing other guys, so why can’t you? I just said I cannot afford the risk and left.

Then, after a few weeks she texted me asking me if I wanted to go out for a drink. I agreed and we met again, hoping she would know it’s only about having a few drinks together. At the end of the evening, again I was walking her to her place and she told me she has moved somewhere else! Ok, anyway I walked her to her new place, which was not far away. On the way she was clingy again and we kissed and hugged and when reached her place she stopped and pointed to her apartment and said, now I live up there and she walked off towards and then through the entrance without even looking back. Was it Love?

Just before I got married I got friends with a woman, who was married. It was a platonic friendship when it started. I got married and was living a married life and then she started coming on strong on me, insisting to go somewhere for a weekend or something and spend some private time together. I told her I am married and so are you and I have no intention of leaving my wife, also that I never thought about us in that way. She, then started telling me how much she loves and she cannot live without me and that she is even willing to share me with my wife, as long as I see her and speak to her from time to time, and she would always want me to be part of her life in anyway possible! Crazy in Love again?

Another girl I met briefly and we would email each other sometimes. Once she asked me to meet her for a drink near her place. I said I couldn’t but then she started insisting and from the tone of her email, I realised that sex was also on the menu. Then I just told her than I am married. She replied calmly that it does not matter, as long as I can see her from time to time and she has no problem sharing. Again crazy love at first sight?

Another time I was in a bar with my then girlfriend. This girl kept bumping into me, standing behind me. At first I thought it was a mistake but then realised she was doing it intentionally. I turned around and said to her, Please don’t do it I am with my girlfriend, pointing towards my girlfriend. She replied, You are a man, why are you scared of her?! I just said, I am scared, as she will kick me out. The girl calmly replied, So what? You can come stay with me! I mean why do girls do that?! Is it love or just ****ing around!

And there are few other such instances, not going in details.

The question I ask is, does one true love exist? I grew up having that notion in my mind. With maturity I realised men can sometimes act like dogs, but women, still believe in one true love and would never tolerate infidelity or share their partners. But such experiences in life have left me thinking:

Does one true love really exist?
Do women really believe in it, or just use it as a tool in their psychological warfare?
Or is it just another piece of bullshit from fantasy world, an eternal pursuit of something that does not exist?

I would like to settle down at some point but I cannot decide, should I really find one true love or just live whatever way I can, for myself. Lately I have turned really rude towards women. Any woman I meet, its fine as long as its fun and sex and the moment she starts with emotional and love thing, I literally tell them to SHUT UP and cut the bullshit.

I was never much good in bed, but now I have gotten even worse. I only take my pleasure and do what I have to do without even trying to please the woman, and then just roll on my side and sleep. If she complains that she is not finished yet, I just extend my hand and say Do whatever you have to do, with it. They either walk off to the toilet in a huff or turn their back towards me and pretend to sleep. Either way its ok, as long as they leave me in peace. Though I had to/got kicked out in the early hours of the morning. I am fine with that too, I just have no tolerance for bullshit anymore.

I would appreciate women’s opinions-views and men’s experiences to see is it only me or there are others too who have been through similar situations. For now, I cannot decide if I should live for love or sex or money!

Thank you.

Re: English Forum "Quote of the Day"

Can't believe I missed that one. Wow. Turns down sex with a Norwegian babe. Even worse does it cuz he wants to remain on good terms with a woman who ****ed him royally. And then tells us he's bad in bed. All of this interspersed with some silliness about looking for love. Wow again.

Correction: not bad in bed, just brutally selfish; now here we finally have a real man.

I love most of the animals (I don't like monkeys), I'm crazy about dogs, but ducks have something special and I used to chase all the neighbor's ducks when I was little and I was staying at my grandparents in the country side.
Also contender for WTF of the day!

Reminds me of the TISM song "The parable of glenn mcgraths haircut

"Its the ***** with the bad haircuts that you've got to watch out for. There's never been a popular teenager yet who's done rat's with their life. Its the dorks that give it a real go."
