what's wrong with sitting down to pee? is it emasculating?
I so very agree with this sentiment...

Maybe those manly men who know to pish sittin' down could teach those too proud to sit...

Or else we chicks will start leaving some faul smelling suprises ON THE SEAT!

And use tripple amount of TP...Ha!

I probably should have qualified that with at home. In public, they use urinals like most men do
That's correct, and I have actually seen these German stickers there on a Swiss home

Re: Sit Down!!!! (mens toilet habits)

Got up this morning. Staggered into bathroom. Raised seat on loo. Assumed usual, vertical, non-emasculating stance for evacuation of bladder and commenced operations.

Cat walked in, saw stream of "water" and batted at it with paw, in usual, feline, playful way ...

... yellow splashes all around toilet.

Maybe men's aim is not to blame after all?

PS Cat afterwards ... mmmmmmmmmmmm

This much of that sounds like me every morning...

What is it with cats wanting to accompany one to the bathroom?

Ah well, due to this habit, three of my previous cats had also begun to use the toilet for urination (in, not on) so it's not such a bad thing.

Mine dunks all his toys in there, as well as any socks he finds. Somehow I think its going to be impossible to train him to use it as an "actual toilet" <sigh>

Oh, but think how much stress you are saving your Prostate Gland! Tis SO much more relaxing to sit and pee - you get your whole bladder empty, completely drained ....... and you have the added perk of being able to relax and gaze at the wall, the door, the door handle, the plumbing pipes, paintings, etc, that you stay healthy longer ......... and don`t have to have your prostate gland removed when you in the prime of your life! (Well, okay, maybe your prostate gland is not concerned but it makes a good non-emasculating excuse to sit dont it?)

What a fab thread!
Let's have a poll. Who stands/sits - men only of course.
I'm a stander - always have been always wll be.
How otherwise could you "point Percy at the porcelain"?

I suppose as one enters ones dotage and the pressure reduces one could be persuaded to sit .
I recall at junior scool - decades ago - we used to see who could pee over the wall .Those were the days.

yup. great competitions to see who could pee the highest - a combination of pressure, trajectory and technique.

also an image from my university days will always be emblazoned in my mind: on a particular heavy drinking day (everybody doing yards), i stumble into the men's which is quite full of people having a 'peeing' competition - several were huddled around a urinal watching one guy pee. one chap holding a stopwatch shouted "2 minutes" just as I passed by...

Until reading this thread I have lived my whole live never even conceiving of the idea that some men sit. Must make it tough to write their names in the snow.

Re: Sit Down!!!! (mens toilet habits)

My husband claims he sits to pee sometimes, but I spend too much of my time fuming over the yellow stains all over the bowl to believe him.

While we're on the subject, what amazes me about pee on loo seats is WHY OH WHY is it when I go to public loos, just for girls, that there is quite often a. pee on the seat (careless hovering?? grrr.) or b. the lid lifted up? We spend so much time being annoyed with men over it and yet the sisterhood (I use this word with much irony, lest anyone think I'm starting a feminist rant!) lets itself down like this?

Also on my list of irritations in this dept are skid marks in the loo. What do you think the brush is for chaps???

Re: Sit Down!!!! (mens toilet habits)

Men can't pee properly while sitting. Anatomy.
Women sit because they have to, a toilet is designed for women. (and for men who do serious business)
More details here, but it's true.

So what about men who, for example, are actors or have retired? Only hedge fund managers and the like then, doing their "serious business"?? Hur hur?
