I did it with my Ipod Touch. It's very nice all the extra stuff I can put on it! I can have a phone too if I want.

For some reason I hesitated for about a year before doing this, but haven't looked back since.
By the way, the unlock for 3.1.2 - blacksn0w - is due to be released this evening, just in case anyone's interested. It's from the same guy who did blackra1n.
EDIT: Oops, just seen that this was already discussed in the monster iPhone thread. I'll leave it up here as well just in case...

The next step will be to unlock it using the latest modem firmware. To be honest, I don't think I can be bothered, the new modem firmware is not going to make a huge amount of difference to call quality/reception etc..

Have been told by a friend I can take my SwissCom iphone into a SwissCom store, and have them "officially" jailbreak it, since I have had it longer than 2 years. Sounds fishy, any idea if this is valid? Want to crack it and give it to the kids for their use back in the States. Not sure if it is that simple...

this process takes a day or so and then you need to <sigh> connect to iTunes to get that unlock to become active.
jailbreaking is a whole other funpark.
and this boxman character was banned.....seems harsh for someone thanked so many times |

| | iPhone 4 unlock 04.10.01
I see Ultrasn0w have finally cracked the iPhone 4 unlock, just in time for me to go to the UK this weekend.
Will have a try tonight, anyone done it yet?
Cheers
Ps - quite ironic as I got my phone bill last night, 210 chuffs for roaming :-(.

| | Re: iPhone 4 unlock 04.10.01
The unlock for 4.10.01 has been out for 6months or so now. It works great, just whatever you do don't upgrade past that Firmware unless your using TinyUmbrella or you will lose your unlock... I would actually recommend you to download TinyUmbrella now to save your SHSH blobs, so if you ever do upgrade you can keep your BB (or downgrade your firmware) and therefor maintain your unlock.
Here's how to do so: http://www.callingallgeeks.org/how-t...-4-shsh-blobs/ |
