Re: Stop changing avatars

I used to love my avatar. It was truly my pride and joy.

And then some miserable **** told me to change it, as it was the same as some other user's (goodness knows which one: I've certainly never seen anyone else use Terry-Thomas on their avatar in the two years I've been on the EF).

I shan't name the miserable ****, but he's a moderator, and he's a miserable ****, so I'm sure you can work out who it was...

where I shall put you on the shoot, shag, marry list and can I ask you a question please, have you ever smelled that lovely Kenzo perfume, with the white dove on it? I just can't get enough of it.
Very clever. Perfumes are a lot like avatars. They say something about our personality. Nope, I've never tried Kenzo.

Actually both you and Sada are quite fun to figure out when you change avatars . Sada's are beautiful, yours usually have a quiz and clues attached

Well, I was thinking about changing mine but with all the comments about sexily dressed heffers being icky I have still been searching...

Meanwhile, the one I wanted (but wasn't sure I could get away with) is this:

Yes, I suppose I could have googled another picture, but I was so annoyed by the apparent pettiness of the demand -
up until then, I'd never seen any other user with that avatar - that I decided to
put the whole Terry-Thomas idea in the incinerator and go for something completely different.

The next avatar was something Greek, if I recall correctly, a view over a bridge in Istanbul, or some
hero of the Greek resistance - I'm not sure which - and from then on,
each avatar had some Greek connection, either obvious or obscure.

"Who will recognise this obscure fellow?" would often cross my mind,
as I dug up some random Hellenic chap from the darkest recesses of google, eager to copy and paste my
new avatar for the amusement and interest of my fellow forum users.
Knowing that many members are Greek, I was sure that somebody would guess correctly, and somebody usually did.
Every avatar was worked out by someone or other, until I was forced to resort to ever greater obscurity,
resulting in the avatar that preceded this one: A pair of yams - or a 'yam-yam'.

Can people stop changing avatars. It's driving me nuts.
Dougal...You used to have a cheeky chappie face. What the hell is a yam yam?
Uncle Max...you had half the women on the forum wanting to shag the last incarnation. Go with the flow man.
Sada...I've come to expect something sexy. Pick Tricia Helfer (cylon number six) or even better Doris Leuthard... then stick with it.
Why keep changing avatars? If it ain't broke don't fix it.
Yes, I agree Nev. Would Uncle Max please go back to being James Spader.

I would like that very much.

Can the Mods not have a look again and allow you to get your avatar back? Seems like a strange request to remove the avatar if no-one else had/has the exact same?

- after all it is not everyday you're 21.. and yesterday too

Re: Stop changing avatars

This gets my vote for 'Thread of the Week', Nev.
I'd shag or marry you in the blink of an eye if not already spoken for (both). You're the voice of reason in this cacophony of cracked nuts and phonies. But you showed you can crack enchantingly too by starting this thread.

Surely you can't fault me for changing my avatar frequently. After all, they're all of the same canine. Well, mostly.

Poor DB, another victim of a shoot-first-and-bury-later mod.

I've photo-shopped a few more grey hairs on Serge's head, but apart from that he's been remarkably stable.

Edit: My first Avatar was actually Fidel and Che having a smoke but I received a complaint from a Miami-based, Cuban exile with an interest in Switzerland <phew> so I buckled under the pressure.

I have been toying with the idea of changing mine recently, I keep meeting people from EF and they say oh 'that' Nicky whilst simultaneously pointing at their eye
This reminds me how I met Woodsy on one of my first Talacker drinks. I never asked anyone before "Are you the stoned chipmunk?"
