I am that old. I had a crush on Lyn Paul at the time.

This was there 2nd biggest hit after the Coco Cola Ad song "I'd Like To Teach The World To Sing"

Mine is "Softly, Softly" by Ruby Murray. That is going back too far.
flippin Nora I remember the original Seekers. Please close this thread I'm feeling old.

Russkov now you've given away your age this is quite funny

"I've worked hard to get where I am now and I must say, while I appreciate everything, if you were going to hand it all to me 20 years ago I'd be just as happy... and less tired." -A wiser, older man.

At 4yrs old.....hmmm

The quote's obviously not from me. The guy is an accomplished lawyer, seems to love his job, etc. And one day he just said this. I've always used it as an inspiration to never refuse easy solutions or short cuts. There's no pride in having taken the hard way just for the hell of it, as many people seem to like to do.

I knew it wasn't your quote, but when reading your song and realising your age it made me smile , thanks.

In the Uk charts it was "Hold my Hand" by Don Cornell

Never heard of the song nor the singer. Read the lyrics online and don't want to hear it either.
Why couldn't it have been the Ink Spots? I'd have loved this one to be no.1 on my birthday. Essex Scott is singing. These aren't the "original" Ink Spots.

Fun thread :-)

US: Lean on me - Bill Withers
UK/AUS: Puppy love - Donny Osmond

However, in Sweden it was all about Jag vill ha en egen måne by Ted Gärdestad at that time....

I think I'll combine this with another old Thread on a similar theme.
