Re: Cool websites and Interweb things

These are probably not necessary for all you computer literate members and moderators but are worth a look as a reminder. They are certainly recommended for those with limited IT knowledge.

The first site is sponsored by the British Government, eBay, Microsoft and others. It is a good source of IT safety information for beginners.

http://www.getsafeonline.org/

The next site is an absolute beginners guide to using computers

http://www.myguide.gov.uk/myguide/MyguideHome.do

The third site is produced by CEOP (Child Exploitation and Online Protection Centre). It has sections aimed at 5-7 year olds through to parents and teachers. With the rapid growth in the use of social networking sites, I think that anyone responsible for computers that children have access to should be aware of how to protect them, whilst not stopping their enjoyment of computers.

You thought that you had seen the worst album covers a few months ago. This site has even more, and they can get worse

(There are are few duplications from the site posted before)

Eulenspygel 2 surely has to be the worst

Re: Cool websites and Interweb things

I gave you a Thanks for that, but only because there isn't a "Good Heavens, What On Earth Have You Subjected Me To? Don't You Know That I Can Never Unsee Those Bloody Things Now I've Seen Them? I Hate You Deep Purple, And The Loon Pants You Came In In" button.

And it didn't really seem to deserve a Groan.

Thanks for not groaning. I had to be subjected to them from my Brother in Law. As they say, a problem shared is a problem halved.

Re: Cool websites and Interweb things

I saw this on Swiss Info.

http://www.swissinfo.ch/eng/multimed...75&sid=9144745

Amazing photos taken from Electron Microscopes. Apparently there was an exhibition recently in Basel. Did anyone get to see it?

http://www.micronaut.ch/home/Micronaut_Home.htm

The pictures make bits of insects and plants look like some futuristic space scene.

That has got to be about the tackiest/corniest sound on a website ever! Do they really think it will boost sales?
