My short experience is that EF meetings are the biggest sausage parties this side of Berlin! That's not a bad thing; I'll still be down to the next social for what it is- good conversation and a good laugh with English-speaking people.

Because, as I said, the women who constantly post here complaining they can't meet men don't leave the house. They're too busy PMing DB, begging for a date.

Yea, stalking the frozen food section aisle as apparently according to Cosmo, single men are in abundance there... :)

But interestingly, the 24% not having children jumps to 40% of university educated women !!

Priorities, choices etc. Who knows.

I make an educated guess: The birthrate slumped due to the invention of the pill which was introduced in the late sixties and was only widely accepted in the 70s. I guess that especially the girls enjoying university finally had a very effective tool to plan if and if yes when to get kids....

In North America, yes: where such aisles are substantial in size and where grocery stores are open late, which is when the male of the species can be found at such aisles.

Hello Paulita,I want to say you have done a great thing by writting out how your friend feel about their daily, lonely and private life, but i most confess it happen to almost everybody every day, the most problem is that we are always shy to talk to people or even share our feeling to people who can really get to be there for us ,not only your friend, including me,i have been looking for someone i can chat with or talk with or go out with some time, well i am available to feel the vacuum, and i will like to meet your friends,.Wesley:):):)

Its too late when you cant play with them for hours or stay up with them all nite when they need you to.

Age is just a number but people dont change or improve as they grow older, they just get more refined and sophisticated in their stupid ways, if they are so inclined.

Oh Okay I can agree with that. :)

Here are a few tips on how to be successful on the Zurich dating scene:

Dress down - adapt a boring style (trousers, t-shirt, flat shoes, nothing quirky)
Do not say anything vaguely interesting that might make you look clever (Swiss men don't like smart women)
Do not make any witty or sarcastic remarks you are in acute danger of hurting someone's feelings (important!)
Do not expect to be picked up in a limousine when going on a date - Swiss men like to 'travel' by bike (even in their 40ies)
Expect to be invited for dinner which is completely made out of Migros Budget products (less expensive, after all we are in a recession here)

To sum it all up be less demanding!

Most importantly (!!) do not mention the fact that you are Eastern European you might be mistaken for an Exotic dancer and therefore not be considered as a potential date. Even if you work in Banking no one will believe you that! No one!

I rest my case.

Re: Why is it so hard to find a date in Zurich?! (hope my friends wont kill me)

The OPs friends probably need to look at what attracts them, their dating expectations and what they're prepared to compromise on with their dates.

Changing these 3 elements will change their dating outcomes.

So it's not hard to find a date, it's hard to accept the ones that are here.

Outcomes (incl. dating ones) won't change until you change something.

As an allegory, I'm sure the OP's "professionals" would change as needed when it came to professional concerns....why not the same for personal concerns?

After all goals are goals whether spiritual, professional, personal, physical....right?

100% agree! esepcially on the dress down... no joke etc. Swiss men are (most of them) just very boring, or use their own word, they are " family oriented" ? :0

Dont worry for being Eastern European, although most men may have fantasies on Russian blondies, Ukrain dancers etc, they still own high respects to Easterners! ( a lot of them working in banks, and they all have good husbands :))

If you want to meet people go to the social events, it really is that simple.

Aaaawwww...

Anyways.

Why do you, people, keep mentioning Cosmo? Somebody reads that stuff?
Jeezumpetes, I am so out of the loop..

Hash, I would use the term "fair" rather than pasty. Haha...Let's boycott "professional" and "pasty". Any others?

And I really didn't get the connection between mtb and unfaithful men. But I am having a slow day today.
