True, people over 35 and 40 have kids all the time in the past and still today even more so today with technology. :) http://mothersover40.homestead.com/home.html

I think the oldest record now is the 66yr old British single mom who had a baby. That was VERY interesting. :)

My apologize.

The reason it is so hard to get a date with the nice guys in Zurich, is because I'm dating them all.

I think I will write a book about it.

---book starts---
Be your self.
Loosen up.
Smile.
Remember that a guy who makes you laugh will make you much more happy than a guy with a big, expensive car.
Remember that going on a date, doesn't mean you need to marry the guy. Relax and enjoy your self.
---book ends---

If you find it hard to get a man's attention, put a post it note on your back saying 'I'm single, let's mingle' and then laugh and blame one of your friend for it when a guy mention it.

Easy, peasy, japanesey!

Good advice!

ps, do you know that position, too?? ( book ends). part of the relaxing & enjoying your self!

Wow, this thread has kicked on, there's even more pages to read since my opus above. Will I finish it before I get lunch, or England are bowled out!?

ciao for now

I think its unfair on the kids, if you have them too late.

Maybe people cannot communicate unless is on the computer or the mobile phone

How old were they?
I recall reading in the Manchester Red Banner (aka the Grauniad) that big majority of people 30-35 expect to meet their life partner on the net.

Don;t recall whether people=MTBers (who seem to be rather big swinging knobs in this thread), although as it was the Guardian, I suspect not

Not really. No more unfair than any other age. There are younger parents who neglect or abuse their kids and those kids would love to have a caring older mom than a younger abusive one if given the choice. Age is just a number. :) All kids would like it better if the parents had them when they were ready for them whatever age that may be.

hahaha! this is strange- maybe we need all the single ladies to head to lausanne, because i have a small group of guy-friends that are single and always complaining how difficult it is to meet a women here!

but i second (or third or whatever) the idea of joining a club of some sort of what ever it is you like to do. i started training capoeira when i was single and it was a great way to meet guys (and friends) doing something i loved.
also i think peg is right, you need to be open to the fact that the person you meet may not be your "typical" type, i find that my girlfriends get really hung up on their type, and end up missing out on someone who is actually much better!

I've heard the same thing said in NY, Sydney, even here in ZH!*
Apparently, it's also true in Seoul, the fastest-growing market for male cosmetics!

* I've never taken advantage, honest!

Sorry but what is Capoeira? Don't hit me, but my 1st thought was performing carp!

I also agree, chenistry is no respector of 'type', so OP encourage your friends to keep an open mind:)

no worries, i could never hit you! i'm better at kicking!

here's a bit of my former group and what we do-

but, the point being- stop being so damn "professional" and start being more fun to be around. i find that people who call themselves "professionals" have not much more to call themselves.
time to find a hobby!

Amaraya, thanks for that.
Stylised kick-boxing/dancing?
Where is it from? Is it a comp or a performance?

Do you & your bloke perform like that together?
makes the 'book ends' position seem rather boring!

Its too early, when you still have your own ego and teenage fantasies unfulfilled and havent got rid of the demons of past life's depravations. "Your kid cant have a bicycle just coz your dad never bought you a bicycle"

Its too late when you cant play with them for hours or stay up with them all nite when they need you to.

Age is just a number but people dont change or improve as they grow older, they just get more refined and sophisticated in their stupid ways, if they are so inclined.
