It's chic and unoffensive, muzzak. But she is hot hot. The whole product is cool. Will be cooler when they age and put more of themselves in it, they have a lot to offer. Her voice will mirror her soul. Hmmm..."Hey now" is my ultimate track.

Yep I'll agree with inoffensive. I found London Grammar somewhat forgettable TBH. I need something to get my teeth into. That said I have been enjoying the MS MR album Second Hand Rapture lately which is also fairly disposable stuff.

My current top 3 on the ipod are (band - album)

65daysofstatic - wild light
Nils Frahm & Anne Müller - 7Fingers
All the Luck in the World - All the Luck in the World.

Although today I was thoroughly enjoying a bunch of Chopin's Nocturnes and Dvořák's New World Symphony - cracking symphony, so dramatic.

Yeah i do get that totally, being that i am mainly into extreme metal music, i do prefer for other random non-metal stuff i listen [and there's way too much of that too ] to be at least a bit…let's say edgier [and/or make my muscles wanna move]

exactly why of all the female vocalists out there i was only really taken by the etheric work of Chelsea Wolfe [anyone?] <3

ugh, love Dvořák!
I've been brainwashing myself these last days with Brahms, my fav - Hungarian Dances opus…just priceless! [oh and playing right now as well lol]

Re: What are you currently listening to?

Only people who spell Dvořák right should listen to him. Nice!

I preferred singing him, New World gets played out back home.. We did his Requiem, it was big. I sang Brahms, too, I miss doing both. Try Smetana's Vltava, too, the tunes of my home..

65daysofstatic are fab, love their Tiger girl, I put it on in gym every single time. And heavy metal is cool, have some of my heavier favorites.

When we are at inoffensive, I got Zero 7 Home in my ears at the moment, her voice is melancholic, makes me wanna run back home again.

Desperately trying to find something modern I like.... But this is not it. I think "dull" is the word you're looking for. Back to my boxed set of Joni Mitchell's first 10 CDs. Then maybe I'll splash out on the complete works of Purcell.

"Dull" is what this isn't. Mad, inspired, weird, brilliant - and worth a listen to the end, I promise!

I was in a similar position at the start of last year - my iPod was looking very tired to be honest. What I then did was force myself to listen only to new stuff or stuff that I'd never previously listened to. I discovered some gems in the end, for example

Death Cab for Cutie
Fink
The Shins
Bon Iver/Volcano Choir
Other Lives
British Sea Power
Nils Frahm

None of these are particularly new artists, but are still relatively modern. I'm not recommending any of them as music tends to be a very personal choice, but given your Joni Mitchell preference I'd say give Fink, Bon Iver (esp. For Emma Forever ago), and Other Lives a try if you haven't already - no guarantees mind.

Fink

Bon Iver

Other Lives

Re: What are you currently listening to?

Thanks for the inlove smilies, needed those, despite of my smiley aversion..

This is it for today, it's a different kind of aesthetics, still like to inhale a lot of new stuff even if offensively inoffensive, one just has to listen with a different mindset. This is for today's antsy pants, let's move it, guys, together..

This is light..reminds me James Blake, the wizard of light. Any track with a monster in the lyrics will appeal to me, though

Perfect darkness has been in my player for years, with his Honesty, it's a soul feed, comes handy when one needs to think about people. Perth is a good one by BI, as well. Hot Chip/BI - Daughter. Another eye/ear candy, would have this track 20 times for dinner these days, she is very likable.

Dido's lament by Purcell is my fav, it's fun to feel a little bit dramatic through some old well written tunes.. The other day I was falling asleep to Tallis, hmmm, and pulled out Elgar's cello piece, never disappoints.
