I've just upgraded to a snotty audiophile system for better appreciation of music.
Of course now it's requires me to start from scratch collection albums (so long MP3, you've treated me so well the last 20 years).
Any recommendations of must have albums--specifically ones with outstanding production and quality? Any and all genres!

Gould's Goldberg Variations 1955 (available remastered on vinyl or CD)
Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon (also available remastered on vinyl or CD)

I'll check out Gould----see if I can score a good flac download. Sounds like an excellent addition to the new collection!

If you listen really close you can hear lots and lots of details, Gould's humming while he plays, him shuffling manuscripts while he is talking to the Engineers, the Piano seat creaks ever so slightly a couple of times.

Right now hearing fingers sliding up and down guitar stings add another dimension to songs. And good recordings of the drum tracks (rare in a lot of rock albums) really puts the image in my head.

What tuff did you get?
I am currently listening to music through my Studio monitors Yamaha HS7 nothing over the top, but gives a pretty clear and netrual picture..
I am trying to come up with a way to connect my LP player to them.
I like you would like to upgrade my music collection out side the MP3 world.
