The first Mumford and Sons album comes to mind: the lead singer's voice is viscerally raw, somehow, and boy can they play.
Also a Ryan Adams and the Cardinals live album whose title escapes me at the moment.
Cold Roses, but it's not live. My live album is, er, one I apparently acquired... |

It's clearly (even more) deliberately commercial than previous albums, and covers lots of genres which is a bit odd - but he just seems to have this knack to take almost any mainstream genre and create a classic, catchy tune in it.
Edit: and Lindsey Stirling - saw her concert in Zurich last night, really spectacular show. Her stuff isn't much for just listening to and most of the YouTube videos are more fun for my kids than adults, but the show was awesome.

I am currently listening to music through my Studio monitors Yamaha HS7 nothing over the top, but gives a pretty clear and netrual picture..
I am trying to come up with a way to connect my LP player to them.
I like you would like to upgrade my music collection out side the MP3 world. | | | | | Hooked up a nice Rotel pre+power amp, some mid-level B&W boxes and big sub, and CD/DAC (unfortunately not SACD ). Still fine tuning the positioning etc. | Quote: | | | | The first Mumford and Sons album comes to mind: the lead singer's voice is viscerally raw, somehow, and boy can they play.

I was loving the new Lumineers Album on MP3---but the CD sounds terrible in comparison to what it could have been with a better recording/mixing/producing.

I'm listening to stuff I bought in the late 80s early 90s and haven't heard since then, it's quite fun actually. Some stuff I remember and some is completely new.

A surprise that I found in my CD collection: Rage Against the Machine sounds brilliant---for a rebel rock/punk/alt the quality of the recording and production is absolutely phenomenal.

Leonard Cohen - Everybody Knows
What a voice and lyrics.
Everybody knows that the war is over.
Everybody knows the good guys lost.
Everybody knows the fight was fixed.
