Hi Musicchick. I tried to PM you to find out which recording of Thomas Tallis to buy. It's beautiful. Unfortunately, your quota of PM's is exhausted...
I'm listening to Vivaldi chamber cantatas sung by the fine countertenor Philippe Jaroussky.
I have one by Tallis Scolars, it's pretty amazing, he was fantastic.
If you check out the Spem in alium part of it the one I posted, it is better if it is under 10min, since it can drag a tad over 10min. But even slower it is very nice, the difference is miniscule. I like it a little bit faster, heard it crisp by a boy choir, it was interesting, completely different. You won't go wrong with Tallis Scolars.
Heard it while out this morning, and now cant get it out of my system.
Great, but I think I prefer the original from 1967 by Nancy Sinatra and Lee Hazelwood. I am sure I have heard a version by Kylie Minogue and Nick Cave that was also very good

I'm not sure if it exists unless it was a live version.
Have you heard the one by Patty Boyd & Demis Roussos? Haha

NS & LH... good that they make the song for all sorts - i just love the voice of Ville Valo. I always end up falling for a voice.
KM & NC - actually the girls were discussing these guys the other night. I hadn't heard of him and Kylie is too australilan for me to think very highly of her
(though i had the kids at the gym riding to Ice House last night.. some good things do come out of that "not quite so southern" land. - i cant find the track -its called "Shakin' the Cage")
