I'll probably pick up revelations when I'm in the UK over Christmas, along with Skyrim and maybe UC3.
Apart from ME3, none of the others really appeal to me TBH. I'll think I'll have enough to be going along with.

I was going to say....who's looking out for new games with MW3, BF3, Arakham City and Skyrim....SKYRIM! out just recently.

On that note, apparently Skyrim is well on it's way to selling 500 million copies....I'm betting on GOTY for it.

Am enjoying Skyrimming at the moment, good chance it will make GOTY if AC doesn't get it. I feel Fallout NV should have won it last year, but didn't, so you never really know which way it'll go.

You don't have 2 controllers for such dire emergencies? Suprising from such a hardcore trophy collector...
My mate has my other 2 controllers as well as my PS2.

Are the games getting easier?

The MW campaign seemed a lot easier compared to earlier ones.

Yeah, i did it in one sitting.........generally i think you are right though. Considering we are all getting on a bit, surley these games should be much harder for us??

2.- it is easier. I played my first run in veteran. funnny thing, eventhough I played it all in veteran I didn't get the trophy combo for acts passed in that difficulty. not that i care for those things anyways.

I did look at your trophies and saw you had completed the campain.......i assumed you did it on hard mode not veteran. I will be doing my 'intel collection' run over the next few days on veteran mode and will let you know if its a trophy glitch or not.

cheers

I have to say. I am not a fan of the AC's

I played 2 for a while, and was very irritated by it. Not many games irritate me.

That being said, I only started New Vegas a few months back and am loving it! Not quite Oblivion, but I like it more than Fallout 3 so far.

Skyrim is queued, but won't start it till mid december. Apparently it's a lot of fun to put baskets and buckets on peoples heads and steal all their shit since they can't see :P

Skyrim is the 5th installment of the Elderscoll series. A open world sandbox style game where one is free to follow the main story, or travel the world explorer, improve their character or do side quests.
Same makers as Fallout 3/New Vegas, very similar style.
Last one was Oblivion (elderscolls 4), which was considered by some, to be a breakthrough game.
Hardcore gamers found Morrowind (I think ES3) to be the best, as oblivion was a bit simple for RPGers, but in my books it's up there as my favorite game of all time. 250 hours logged on that game, and that's not much compared to others.

Re: [General discussion of] PS3

Skyrim was highly anticipated and released last friday. As I mentioned above they expect to break 500 million $ in sales. Already broke a few sales records.

The wikipedia review concur

No, I don't work for Bethesda software (but I wish I did)

I played Morrowind on the PC. Fantastic game, I played for hours and never finished actually it . Never tried Oblivion, my PC at the time wouldn't hack it.

MW3 has taken a back seat while i pile through AC:Revelations.

They do seem to have changed quite a few things.

Re: [General discussion of] PS3

MW3 arrived, so I played through a little of the campaign. Yet to take the plunge into MP as yet. I suck enough as it is on the PC, let alone trying to aim and move with the PS3 controller

Re: [General discussion of] PS3

Must say, that MW3 campaing although short, Is Frigging Excellent!

Completed in one sitting, (it is short). Also Spec ops is Great. The "waves scenario" is almost like zombies, but with better defence management! Very addictive!

Multiplayer is as always great, I like the fact the maps are a bit smaller. But you still get that one guy in a dark patch in the grass camping

Awsome Game!

Re: [General discussion of] PS3

Well the whole point is to play kill confirmed. although the kill count for the win is reduced by 10 for unknown reasons.

I hate when my teammates are douchebags who don't stay around the turrets when the juggernauts come.

Kill Confirm is cool, But I mainly play Hardcore, and you get a whole Bunch of guys camping by the tags...... Grrr

Got to wave 25 on French map, Juggernauts become a reall pain in the arse then! Why do you want to stay in tunnels, just run away and shoot them with a light machine gun! Exploding dogs, now thats a threat!

But there is a little room on that map with only 2 doors, the shop at far right corner. Get 2 miniguns to dfend each door, and just stand and shoot guys as they run through!

i got to wave 34. on both seatown and resistance.

I use the alley leading to that shop and the atrium as running around place. Mostly because that means that you can circle around juggernauts while your sentries shoot them. add claymores for good measure. (wave 10, 15, 20) and the GIGN for meat shields.

Re: [General discussion of] PS3

Started playing skyrim, great so far, but it's buggy, save often. First time I tried to start the game it froze on the startup screen, and it's frozen a couple more times too, usually when going through a door to another area, each time requiring a hard reset, the PS button didn't respond.

Also, I didn't pay too much attention while naming the character and accdientally left the default, no impact on gameplay from what I can tell, but it's annoying there was no option to confirm the name.

I went to install it last night, but then realized I needed to be online for installation. So no go.

Not sure how far you are into the game, but apparently not too far into the game you have the option of redoing your look/race/skills.....perhaps name as well? Or have you already pasted that confirmation option?

What's the consensus on MW3? Should I get it and not let the wife use the TV for a month?
