Re: [General discussion of] PS3

Assasins Creed: Revelations

(animus 2.03)

Good:

- comes with ACI to install on your HD
- Ezio is still a 'player'.......
- Medditeranian Defence for your assasins.....too long winded to go into, but its cooler.
- Bomb crafting........interesting element to the game.......takes some getting used to though.
- When you capture a den and set it alight, afterwards you can jump off yourself.......thank god they fixed that.........in Brotherhood that was a fail
- hook blade........sick for climbing and killing

Bad:

- The 'turkish' accents are waste........not accurate at all
- Desmond is still a whiny bitch.......man up already!
- Den Denfence game......so shit its unreal.....well at least they tried.
- Horses.......gone........wtf??
- Trophies are weak, far too easy......no rewards for completing every single detail of the game.......shame as i am an AC ocd player.
- now when chasing down people instead of a rugby tackle (which was uber cool) you do a leg sweep thing with the hook blade......still good but the rugby tackle was better

Summary:

In terms of closure, so far its rather satisfying........i am sure there is a big reveal at the end which will explain everything. So far i am at memory sequence 5.......they are defo building to something epic.

I am glad the whole Alairare/Ezio/Desmond cheese is over.........i am very much looking forward to what characters and city they come with AC:III

cheers

Not sure how far you are into the game, but apparently not too far into the game you have the option of redoing your look/race/skills.....perhaps name as well? Or have you already pasted that confirmation option?
Haven't come across anything, I would have thought it would have happened by now, I'm quite a few hours in and on level 6, as it affects many of your base characteristics, I don't see how you could change it later.

They could mean the game takes a while before you get to choose your character traits, it goes through an intro scene first, and that takes a while.

It made sure to confirm race and appearance, but when it brought up the text editor for the name, I accidentally hit O, story continued without bothering to check I'd got it right..

Fair enough--I'll keep that in mind---just relaying other stuff I've heard around the interwebz.

Won't start it till mid december though, gonna buy a legit copy in NA for once.

Re: [General discussion of] PS3

Am level 16 now, no option to select traits / class or anything like that.

I think this is because there is no benefit or downside to having your character choose any path, you can mix and match as you like - it is no harder to make an Orc mage than a Wood Elf tank, aside from race based bonuses.

Re: [General discussion of] PS3

I finished AC:Revelations last night (2am).

Bit of an anti-climax tbh..........overall it does seem to be a bit of a rush job.

Hopefully next year when ACIII comes out they will take their time and make it more like Brotherhood.

Anyway, i still have plently of things to collect on my map as well as a few trophies to unlock.

I have not even tried multiplayer yet.......so will give that a bash later today and let you know how it is.

cheers

Re: [General discussion of] PS3

So, question,

Need For Speed : The Run ?

or

Battlefield 3 ?

or

Resistance 3 ?

I already got MW3 and BF3 is somehow is similar and don't want to level up MP on two.
Batman : AC somehow seems appealing but didnt hear too many good things about it except Catwoman's derriere.
And SC, don't say AC...somehow that franchise never sat well with me.

So advice ?

NFS: The Run - try the demo........imo fun for a demo......not worth a purchase.........but i do highly recommend NFS: Shift 1........if you can be bothered to read back in this epic long thread, i wrote approx 2 pages about the NFS franchise.

BF3 - i will let ouchboy scold you for even asking

Resistance 3: really?

Batman: AC - you can buy my copy of B:AC (as well as B:AA) if you desire at a discount price

The whole Assasins Creed franchise is amazing........you mind is clearly still effected by all those years of button bashing on the lame-boxx-box.

cheers

Yeeaaahhh...spent some time on Oblivion and wasn't too pleased.

And I have a couple more RPGs eating away my time at the moment.
So not looking for something on similar lines.
I might buy it eventually to see what the fuss is about, but not now.

Thanks tho.

Im quite a fan of the NFS franchise. Loved Most Wanted, but somehow they went downhill from there. Got Hot Pursuit but it somehow seems to be lacking the grip of the earlier titles.

Why ? Its a good game. Plus I followed 1 and 2 so would really be interested to know how the game ends. Gameplay is fun. Not just click and shoot. Difficulty level is much higher...which makes it even more fun.

AC may be amazing. But I just dont like it. End of.
And xbox is cool+some of the games are really really awesome.
And anyways I have both.
So I dont care much for your xbox bashing.
Grapes are sour and such.

I have this already on the xbox.

And this is where the xbox scores very very well.
XBLA is much much better than the PS Store as far as arcade titles go.

Plus, Try out :

Insanely Twisted Shadowy Planet
Dishwasher : Vampire Smile
Shadow Complex

if you have an xbox.

Looking to get Rayman for PS3 for an xmas prezzie for my daughter who is aged 11.

Would this be suitable or perhaps is it aimed at a younger age group.

Any advise appreciated.

Thanks
