Re: [General discussion of] PS3

I'd like to see them jump forward a bit maybe, say reformation London, or revolutionary Paris for example. Be nice if they could continue the story every 200 years or so to bring it to the present day.

And I think you mean 5) AC III

I think this is their vision for that whiney bitch Desmond, to do assasins creed in a modern metropolis.

Personally i would like to see it in Robin Hood times between England and France. Would be cool. We dont want to bring the game to much forward otherwise guns will be a bigger part of the game.

The buzz on the interweb is that Egypt is the destination.

Re: [General discussion of] PS3

There seems to be quite a few 'Trilogy HD' sets around:

Prince of Persia
Devil May Cry
Tomb Raider
Splinter Cell
Metal Gear Solid

As they are reasonably cheap i was thinking of making a purchase.

Any other sets floating about??

cheers

Re: [General discussion of] PS3

Yeah, i just saw the email from Ubisoft.

Weird era to choose.........i was expecting Egypt back in the day.

So does this mean that there will be loads of guns??? FAIL

And also surely there was nothing in the way of large vast cities at this time???

My initial thoughts are that the time period is too modern.

Ancient Egypt/China or even Robin Hood England would have been a better choice.

I am waiting with baited breath.

Re: [General discussion of] PS3

I downloaded the demo for the new SSX.........had a bash at it, its not bad but not great either.

Then i noticed that they have re-released the classic PS2 'SSX On Tour' on the PS store. I bought that straight away (CHF 13.50) and played all night.

This was the best SSX ever made, as you can choose skis rather than snowboard and once you get on the half pipe you can do the sickest tricks.

I highly recomend that you all buy 'SSX On Tour' and give the new SSX a miss.

cheers

I wouldn't be so harsh, there were several largish cities at the time, Boston, Philadelphia etc. I'm hoping the change in environment and period will see some significant changes to the gameplay; similar to AC1 to AC2. Guns? Ezio was already using guns and X-bows in AC2 and Brotherhood. And the only firearms around during this period would have been single-shot flintlock-type weapons.
Ancient Egypt, China or Robin Hood England would be a retrograde step in terms of story continuity IMHO.

From the pictures of the lead character it looks as if you will play a Red Indian...........not quite sure how they will justify the genetic link to Altaire.

I just did my pre-order on play.com

Anyone got Mass Effect 3? Has great reviews and I loved ME2 on the PC, but still got a whole bunch of games to plough my way through first.

Sure have matey, and it doesn't disappoint. Story arc is continuing nicely, they have got rid of planet mining, but kept planetary / galactic exploration with a different mechanism (won't go into too much detail and ruin the surprise!).

Combat is a bit more fluid, but I still find doing stuff behind cover a bit of a pain in the ring.

It imports over 1000 variables from your ME:2 save file (and you keep your level / skills, which is nice) and these shape your game, and allow you to continue in the same vein as before. You can really tell how much effort they have put in to customise your experience based on previous games, that is hugely impressive.

I'd bring it to pretty near the top of your list of games to play - I'm probably 20-25 hours in and just starting to get some progress in the game, the side missions etc have been compulsive playing so not advancing the main story line too much yet.
