Re: [General discussion of] PS3

My COD:BO2 arrived this morning.

I am currently 49% through AC3, so will do a little more before i jump into 'blops'.

I think i will probably jump into the solo play first before i venture online. Oychboy has already bombarded my facebook inbox about how much ownage will be going on.

Full review as per usual in a couple of days.

Last night i was having trouble signing into the PSN network, hopefully will be okay over the weekend.

If you have not already added me, then do so:

PSN user name = HOUSEandGARAGE

cheers
SC

p.s Just Hitman & Far Cry left on my pre-orders list. Then my life will be complete.........well probably till xmas, then the wait for Watchdogs & GTA begins!!

Re: [General discussion of] PS3

Waiting on AC3...and I'm surprised how excited you Brits seem to be about it, considering you lost the American Revolution.

Also ordered Legends 007, and plan to play it while drinking the limited edition Bollinger (though I prefer the 2000 to the 2002...).

Currently playing Fallout 3 because it's the only game we brought that I haven't played.

And my husband wonders why I haven't found a job yet...

To other Brits (mostly), funnily enough.

I almost shead a tear after i stormed the first fort and brought down the union jack, but then i remembered killing templars is more important.

Re: [General discussion of] PS3

Right, so i finished the story on AC3. Great ending, i wont spoil it, but i am very pleased. Just a few feathers left to get and a couple of mission replays for full sync, then i will dip into multiplayer and hopefully get my well deserved platinum trophy.

Overall not crazy about the game, did not really feel as big and grand as the earlier games. Tbh i think the franchise started going downhill halfway through brotherhood.

=====
Anyway, i dipped into Black Ops last night. I did a couple of solo missions and then had a bash at multiplayer.

Solo:
Felt weird and also rather disconnected with the characters. Only did the the first 3 missions but what threw me off were the crazy future guns. Did i buy Halo or COD????? I think i need more time to get used to it.

Multiplayer:
I got raped. Need to learn these new maps.

Zombie Mode:
I could not careless. I much prefer having a spec ops section (like in MW).

Summary:
Overall seems rather cartoony if you know what i mean, and i think it will take quite some time to figure out what the best guns/perks combo will suit my style.

I will write something more indepth later........

I am just waiting for Far Cry and Hitman to arrive.

cheers

Re: [General discussion of] PS3

Started Assassin's Creed 3 last night, enjoying it so far. Loved the others so I'm sure this one will be great too.

Picked up Sonic and Sega Allstars Racing Transformed this weekend. Great carting game, although it seems much harder than the first one.

Re: [General discussion of] PS3

Dived straight into Blops II multiplayer and, as expected, I suck. However, it is a lot of fun, I like the funky weapons and the maps are pretty well designed. Would have been nice to include some of the 80s locations (from the campaign) and loadouts in the MP, maybe that will come in a DLC?
I actually prefer to play hardcore, funnily enough. I die just as much as on the core settings, but get a higher percentage of kills. Although I can't check it until I'l level 10, I would say my K ratio is about 0.5 - 0.6. I don't think that's too bad considering I've hardly played FPS on a console (hell, I was only mediocre on a PC).

Slowly plodding along on ACIII, up to sequence 4 (eldest daughter now on 10). Actually finding it more challenging than AC I and II

Re: [General discussion of] PS3

Hitman Absolution is funking amazeballs!!!!

OMG, i love this game.

Kudos to the developers for taking their time finishing it.

The game was done well over a year go, but they held the release till now and spent the time polishing it up.

It shows!!!

One thing that stands out for me is the audio.

Very well produced and the final master is clean and bright.

(unlike Black Ops which has audio peaks and dips all over the place and dont even get me started on how piss poor their use of reverb rooms is.......basicly like a kid made it with a cracked copy of fruity loops....)

Anyway, back to Hitman....

Pros:
-The game can be played fast, slow however you want.
-Very interesting points system
-Only dipped briefly with the online mode. seems cool, you make your own contracts, name them and also set the parameters so that others can play your levels and try to beat your score. Already got a few 'likes' on the mission i made.
-the difficulty settings are sick.
-very clear and consise tuturial.
-very playable.....so many ways to do each mission...this game will get alot of mileage!!!
-the npc's says funny things in crowds

Cons:
-the sniper game (which you get if you pre-order) does not seem to be part of the main game. really weird, i was hoping that between levels, or a seperate part you do all these cool sniper challanges. Still it was nice of the developers to make a completly different game for the pre-order nerds.
-not used to the button layouts yet, would of liked an option to swap over one function.

Summary:

Its has been many years since i played a game where i really felt like the developers spent time polishing their product.
I have now ordered 4 more copies for all my cousins for christmas!!!

MY GAME OF THE YEAR 2012!!!

GO AND BUY THIS GAME NOW!!!

I would of gone into more detail.......but sorry i need to go back to playing it!!!

cheers

Re: [General discussion of] PS3

Finally reached level 10 on Blops 2 and my K/D ratio is a whopping....

0.48

Did finally finish a match with a positive ratio last night though. I call that progress.

What do people generally find with aiming sensitivity, start low and increase it as you improve? That's what I find I'm doing at the moment and it seems to be helping.

Practice makes perfect!!

Work out what is best for your playing style and roll with it.

Just been chatting to Ouchboy on facebook, he is not that pleased with BO2 either. He is annoyed that the guns dont even move when firing.

The Modern Warefare series is far superior.

cheers

p.s. who is getting Hitman??????????????

I got owned. Good games. Not many shots in our matches, our defenses shut everything down. Wasn't fun by the end.
