I was looking a chart with all the models, best I could find was Wikipedia reference-linkPS3.

Apparently there's no more backwards compatibility. I used it a couple of times, but now only play the PS3 titles. I still have the PS2 kicking about anyway.

but they're crap. i hate these controllers for what im playing but if you want the latest stuff, then thats it. what to say about bundles? there is none or can you tell me what was the xbox initial bundle that you have bought? its obvious depending what games you like best. id say GTA4.
most people would disagree, and most echo cyrus's comments that the new dualshock is much less crappy feeling than the original sixaxis.

alright, so wait for the 80gb and yes the GT4 would be my choice...so the new controllers would be standard included option correct?

Re: [General discussion of] PS3

All this talk about PS3 is actually making me want to buy one, today, as i am still living in a hotel and have nothing to do.
So
My first question is where does one go in (baden) or what shop chain in Sitzerland would have the best deal.
And also is 40gb enough, or is it best to go for 60?
Thanks

If you can't wait, you can get them pretty much anywhere. Your local bahnhof will probably have a city@disc and inter-discount, both sell them. I wouldn't have thought there would be any price difference.

Looks like the 60gb is the slightly better option, but it's your cash.

Probably for the 80gb, but check. I doubt the other models will have them included in the box.

The European 60GB version has:

PS2 compatibility (not 100% though, so check individual games)
SACD playback
CD/MS/SD card readers built in (under flap on front)
4x USB ports (vs 2x USB)

which the 40GB and soon to be released 80GB models don't have.

Unfortunately the Euro version hasn't been manufactured for at least 6 months so your chances of getting a new one are close to zero.

only unfortunatle if you really want to play ps2 games... which, frankly, i find hard to understand, given the plethora of gaming options designed to harness the power and graphics of the ps3.

In Baden you can find it at Interdiscount (under the railway station) or at Manor (near the old bell tower), and I think at Migros as well (the big one at the station has a Migros Electronic section).

You can change the hard disk later if you want.

krlock3.
God of War II and Resident Evil 4 (both PS2 titles) are two of the most played games on my PS3. I've got Okami and Final Fantasy XII still in the wrappers for when I've finished those two.

Aside from having some exceptionally playable titles on the PS2 format, the prices of the classic games are about 25% of the cost of a new PS3 title. Just check the compatibility before you buy as not all work well on the European PS3.

Plus I have a load of SACDs which I like to play, another reason to have the older 60gig model. And those memory card slots are handy.

Sony definitely made a big mistake when they dropped all the nice features of the original PS3 in Europe. The fact that they've at least kept them in the USA smacks of treating the European market like suckers.

Re: [General discussion of] PS3

I have Rez HD on my xbox 360, it was ported to the download store on xbox live, and the graphics uprated to hd.

I had never played it before, i picked it up about 6 months ago. I have to say that it is a beautiful game... well made and excellent how the music seems to sync with what is going on.

If you ask me, LittleBigPlanet is going to be the killer game for the ps3 when it arrives in October. Do your research now!
