I thought the same until i played it as a demo, now I can't get enough of it and the wife also likes to drop in as a second player which is fun.

Re: [General discussion of] PS3

I nearly bought it from Amazon last week but i noticed that it is not actually sold by Amazon but a third party which is a part of DVD.CO.UK who I've had bad experience of in the past.

For clarity, ordering this for delivery to a Swiss address is not accepted through Amazon. Ordering it on the website direct adds 5 or 6 £ for postage.

Rock Band 2 is a much better game in the same vein, I heard.

I have Guitar Hero 1-3 on the PS2, but I just decided to stop there. These games are nowhere as popular here as they are elsewhere, like in America. I can never find anyone to play with, since everyone either finds it childish or just seem scared and intimidated by it.

Re: [General discussion of] PS3

Got it for the 360 with just the guitar (wanted the drums but i'm not prepared to pay the price), good game and in my opinion - better than RB. One thing i like is if you only play solo you can tour as both guitar and bass.

Give a link? It's possibly the short-lived model that came out for a while time this year that also has PS2 backwards compatibility.

Re: [General discussion of] PS3

Has anyone bought the Far Cry 2 German version. I see it says on the bottom that there is an English option for the game mode. I was just wondering if I had read it right.

Re: [General discussion of] PS3

Prince of Persia:

Well after such a long wait this game was really going to be the decider whether or not I buy a PS3.

Unfortunately this game simply did not deliver.

I am still a massive fan of ‘The Sands of Time’ on the PS2……great fighting and also amazing graphics making travelling through levels rather pleasurable.

I was expecting just a more fluid game (essentially what Ubisoft did with Assassins Creed) but alas they took a completely new direction.

Graphics wise I was expecting so much more and was very disappointed. The backgrounds looked like a PS2 game and the characters themselves made it feel like I was playing Aladdin rather than POP.

Also from the beginning of the game you are stuck with some watery magical tart that follows you about helping you on your way. This is rather annoying, and takes away the realism of the princes climbing/acrobatic skills. Again it makes the game feel like ‘Final Fantasy’ meets ‘Aladdin’.

I have stopped myself going on any more as there are so many things that Ubisoft have got wrong. Do game developers not read online reviews or listen to what gamers have to say???

Overall I was not impressed and even though I have been a fan of the POP series since its 2D incarnation I would recommend NOT making a purchase.

Part of me is thinking that they just rushed this version out and have just started working on an Assassins Creed esque super version for when the film comes out……….but I doubt it…….we shall have to see.

Quantum of Solace:

Being marketed as the best Bond game since Golden Eye which tbh is just bull****. (‘Perfect Dark’ probably came closest) and again they seem to have taken the game in a slightly different direction.

Overall I was pleased with the game although the whole dash from cover to cover does take some getting used to.

The AI of the baddies is great which makes it far more realistic but I would have liked to see better levels and also more stealth missions.

My only real problem with the game is probably the rubbish guns you get. The last bond game (which I quite enjoyed) was Golden Eye Rogue Agent on the PS2 which had great weapons; this however was a let down.

Not much more to say on the Bond front other than be careful as it’s not 2 player.

I have noticed not many PS3 games have a split screen option, is this an effort by Sony and the game makers to get people to buy their own PS3 and play online with friends????

Either way leaving out a multiplayer option on a Bond game is just criminal.

It is worth a buy but don’t expect the best game ever.
