www.surfthechannel.com is PS3-compatible, and you can stream movies, TV shows, documentaries, etc. Just click "no" when they ask to open a new window and turn Javascript off.

Didn't the Sony update their flash engine for the PS3 a few months back? youTube works for me.

But for TV shows, I mostly download the stuff I want to watch and stream it from the computer to the PS3 with uPnP, in my case, medialink for the mac.

Not yet.

Like cyrus, i wirelessly stream downloaded content from my mac to my ps3 using medialink. Alternatively, you can just put them on a memory stick, and plug that into the ps3. However that is for content that you have (il)legally downloaded onto your hard drive, not a movie rental service which i think you are more interested in.

Im gonna check this surf the channel site, seems interesting.

Regards the COD: Modern Warfare 2 trailer... talk about a tease... it doesnt show any gameplay. Still, im sure it will be ace.

Re: [General discussion of] PS3

Are there settings which govern whether a dvd resumes play where it left off, when reinserted. This feature was introduced some time ago in a firmware update but it seems to have stopped working for me now.

Im aware that blu rays with BD-J do not auto resume... but it seems that neither any of my blu rays nor dvds do it anymore. any advice?

I think it only remembers where you left off if the DVD stays in the drive, if you take it out, it forgets.

They can't, but I watch the HD rips I download in mkv format by hooking my computer to the TV by an RGB cable. It becomes effectively a second 1920x1080 monitor and looks damn good.

I also urge people to check out the InFamous demo on PSN. Really fun.

Plus, I was pleasantly surprised by Resident Evil 5. The gameplay isn't very evolved from RE4, but if you can play it with a friend or online, the co-op truly makes this game.

You might want to convert the file to a DVD format, and play through the PS3.

I had a few .mkv files for HD Content, but couldn't be bothered going through that process, so I just stick to std DivX and avi files.

Download mkv2vod (instructions http://hubpages.com/hub/How-To-Play-...-Playstation-3 and a link where to download)- it's free and works really well. I download HD movies, so over 10Gbs per size, and each film takes around 20mins to convert. Never had a problem with it.

Re: [General discussion of] PS3

Does anyone have problems with the built-in browser on the PS3? It seems like it crashes on me every other time I use it. Usually I am trying to show a guest a funny YouTube clip or the like, but I find my impatience at the SLOW load times causes me to try and rush it by clicking a link before it is done loading the page. This is especially a problem using YouTube's new interface.

Anyone know why such a fast "computer" has such a SLOW and buggy web browser?
