Yep. But don't have any good games yet. Need to go to some game-shop this weekend and pick some up.

Re: [General discussion of] PS3

I was back in the UK at the weekend and picked up LA Noire in a Best Buy store for £29.99 (about 45 chf). The thieves at Geneva Airport Duty Free wanted 109 chf for it

Whilst I know that gaming here is pricy, how can an airport try and charge more than a Swiss high street store for it? I thought that sales would have been tax-free at least.

Anyway, played it last night for the first time and really enjoying it so far, and the facial animation is incredible. I just wish it was in 40's New York or San Francisco instead, so somewhere a bit more recognisable and attractive than LA.

It's gotten better, believe it or not. Now you can find new games in some Swiss stores like Media Markt for 69-79 CHF at the time of release. It used to be no less than 100 francs everywhere. Games are a notorious rip-off in Switzerland (among with a few other things like dentists). Buy online or abroad, unless you're desperate.

Re: [General discussion of] PS3

Black Ops was 99.- in the FNAC in Fribourg on release.
I was in the UK back in March and picked up 3 or 4 PS3 games for all less than £30 each in the HMV store. One was 2nd hand, others were simply on offer. If I'd bought the same games here it would have cost me close to 300.-.

Don't get me wrong, it looks fine in the game, but other than Hollywood it could be any random US city to most outsiders, whereas most could recognise NY or SF easily.

Noir in NY or SF is just not the same. that's why L.A Confidential happens... well in L.A.

I just go transferred to Vice.

SPOILER...I knew since case 2

Re: [General discussion of] PS3

L.A. Noire finally arrived this morning, can't wait to give it a try this evening. This was the first time and last time I pre-ordered a game, why bother when it arrives 10 days after the release date?

Also enjoying 3D Dot Game Heroes at the moment.

L.A Noire would have benefited from Alpha Protocol's dialogue system. It is sometimes weird to figure out how the conversation will develop when you call out someone on a lie or doubt.

True Ouchboy, quite often the (in theory) milder "doubt", turns into a mental rant against the suspect, trying to scare him into a confession.

Yes I'm struggling to get the hang of the interrogations at the moment, and 'doubt' often seems to get a bad response to aggressive questioning.

Just got a PS3 to grace the empty space next to the Xbox.

See you all online soon.

doubt = facial expression for lying -evidence that says otherwise.

The problem you might find at first is what constitutes evidence, as some are somewhat not so straight trough in their description. as StirB said, it needs better explanations on how Phelps is going to react.

Used it for everything else, other than gaming, so far.
And loving the possibilities.

Re: [General discussion of] PS3

I have returned from my rugby weekend in blightly.

Great game. Saracens won!!

Bought a few games:

1. GT5 - took literally forever to install, did only a couple of races......seems okay so far.

2. Medal of Honour - it was cheap, did the first mission. Average, but will kill a bit of time. One thing was very good though......the night vision goggles......best i have seen in a game by a mile!!!

3. Tiger woods 12 - just installed, yet to play.

4. Uncharted - just installed, yet to play. Bit annoyed Uncharted 2 was not on sale.

5. LA Noire - Played about 30mins. Not what i expected at all. I must say i was pleasantly suprized. I thought it would be just RedDeadRedemption but set in the 20's. How wrong was i!! Its more like GTA meets Heavy Rain. I love the brawling!

I did want to get more games, but nothing seemed worth a purchase. (this does not include Dead Space 2......i am still too scared to purchase )

Full indepth reviews to come....

cheers
SC
