I downloaded the new maps for BO. I am on lvl14 so i have crap guns and no 'pro' perks. I got rapped for about 2 hours. I need to learn these maps. So far Hotel is my fav.......the lifts are funny.
Hotel is great, especially in Domination! Plus yeah, love the moments when you realise somebody called the elevator and you only need to wait for the doors to open Way too many corners for campers to hide behind though.

Anybody play Zombies on regular basis?? Loved the new Call of the Dead too.. haven't figured out all the ins and outs yet...

Normally, the time when I want to play something else is when I go looking into the store.
Except in this case, I cannot play it right then...I have to wait and be patient, which I'm afraid is not one of my strong points.

thats why its best to 'bulk download'......then there will be lots of demos ready to go whenever you feel like playing.

lvl14?? all you need is an mp5k with rapid fire and y'all set. I prestiged and I'm still using it through out the whole 50 levels.

(hardline pro) (sleight of hand pro) (marathon pro) + strela 3

Right, been hammering GT5 the last couple of days:

Con's:

would of liked the option to have R2 as accelation instead of X, and like-wize L2 for brakes.........or at least the option to customize.

cheers
SC
You can use R2 for accelerating and L2 for braking I use this config and use X for gear change up and square for gear change down. Helps with braking. I'm sure real car's dropping down gears and creating such high revs would blow up many an engine.

My favourite race is the Special Event Mercedes AMG series going round the Nurburgring.

Re: [General discussion of] PS3

Okay, another little issue.

This time with LA Noire.

Bought it last weekend for the ps3.
Started fine.
Patrol missions went fine.
But I have a problem in the first mission Traffic mission.
As soon as I finish talking to the wife of the guy missing (the one who was in the blue bloody car) and start to go to the bar...the game freezes after 3-4 lines of dialogue.

I tried everything...different route...I drive...partner drives...replay the entire case again....but same thing happens every time.

Did someone else get this as well ?
Is it the game ?
Do I need to go to the shop and replace the disk ?
Or is this some other issue ?

Thanks a lot for your help guys.

Thanks a lot.

I did that...many times.
But no luck.
And after reading on the web, seems the game freezing issues are occurring a lot with ps3 and 360 users.
Will take the game back to the shop and get a replacement.
Let you know if that helps.

Did you try exiting the vehicle mid conversatio?. Normally in Rockstar games this starts the other person complaining, "Hey get back in the car", or something like that.
It might trick the game into behaving normally.
Some missions allow you to skip the driving part to get to the meat of the mission, but possibly only once you've failed it once already. So you may have to 'accidentally' shoot the woman to get a mission failed message.
A bit drastic I know.

Hmmm...good ideas. I will try them out.
But I'm afraid, since this conversation is part of the script, I will have to go through it.
And it probably will freeze again.
Normally, if the partner is driving the game skips to destination.
Not in this case though.

Re: [General discussion of] PS3

Alright fellow ps3'ers.
Problem with LA Noire is now solved.

So here is what I did.

1. Of course, exchange the disc for a new one. But I think this step was not really needed, since the first time with the new disc, the game still froze.

2. Apply the latest ps3 firmware update. Yes, I know I should have done this as soon as I switched on the ps3, but hey, I'm new.

3. Delete local game data (not save data, only game data using the PS3 Game Data Utility).

4. Insert game disc. Game downloads needed patches and then re-installs itself again.

5. Run game and play until 0130.

Thanks a lot for your suggestions.

Re: [General discussion of] PS3

Got my free downloads last week, Dead Nation and inFamous, and finally got round to installing Dead Nation.

It's a shooter in the Smash TV style, me and a buddy were playing in co-op mode, quite a lot of fun, though it gets suprisingly difficult sometimes, you have to put a bit of strategy in.

Re: [General discussion of] PS3

i tried Dead Nation but I think it's really crappy, abandoned it after few minutes, i'm happy i didn't pay for it...it was the only interesting game for me in the bunch of free games. infamous is a wonderful game, but I played it already

now playing L.A. Noire, it's very interesting, it is quite different from the usual GTA game, seems to me that driving and shooting is not really the main dish here. haven't reached the point where it freezes, I talked to the wife of the dead guy but then when driving to the bar I found a shooting along the road and stopped there to have some action.

Yeah, thats the problem. Or it was.
It does not freeze at the same point for everyone.
Which makes it harder to figure out what the problem is and easier for SONY and Rockstar to play the "Point the Finger" game.

Re: [General discussion of] PS3

Anyone seen the new game from Ubisoft: 'ROCKSMITH'.......(crap name imo)

They are trying to tap into the rockband/guitarhero market (which apprently is dying).

Same sort of concept, except that you can plug in ANY electric guitar and actually play guitar rather than press coloured buttons on a shit plastic midi controller.

Ubisoft are stating the game release around Q3 this year.........play.com is saying late 2012.

cheers

Indeed, I got through the part where others complained about freezing without any problems, probably because during the mission I took a detour to stop a robbery.

I guess it's a typical bug of rockstar games, I had something similar in Mafia II where the game used to freeze at a certain point unless you took some detour in the mission, driving around or shooting.

Very hard to track type of bug...

The controls took a little to get used too, and the first few games were confusing, frustrating and quickly over, but it improves.
