Re: [General discussion of] PS3

Saw there's a new TV menu with something called MUBI in it, had not heard anything about it. Installed it last night, but it had a problem connecting, though I found an email this morning asking to confirm my account, probably that.

Anyone tried it? What is it?

Out for a year already? I don't think I've been that unobservant, I guess it just recently launched here. Did have a look at the MUBI website, but it's very vague about what it has. Will have a better look tonight.

Think of it as the movie section of itunes, but more expensive, less films and generally crap lol.

Do they only show the films in German too? Didn't think anything could be worse than the itunes film service here.

Guess I'll keep my current home movie service, good selection of the latest films at rock bottom prices and speedy downloads with no restrictions on viewings.

I am glad so many people replied to my earlier James Bond post

Anyway...........I just got the Official Rugby World Cup 2011 game.

It was marketed as FIFA/Pro-Evo but for Rugby. It certainly is not.

What is crap about the game is that it is so small. There is no 'training section' which would of been great to concentrate on certain aspects of the game to learn the buttons. But its a case of learn as you play. A giant FAIL imo.

Graphics are average, and the game gets boring quick. Tactics are limited to 2/3 choices and the commentators responses often dont make sense and also they repeat themselves alot.

I was hoping this game would keep me going till MW3, AC:R & the new Batman games arrive. I was wrong.

I have not played online yet because you have to go to their website and unlock the code which is so ghey its unreal. I think online play will be better, lets just see if i hit problems trying to unlock a UK game but play on Swiss servers (like EA games). I will keep you guys informed.

There is another Rugby game coming out soon Jonah Lomu Rugby Challenge which apparently is much better.

Can anyone suggest a half decent game to keep me busy for the next month or two?

cheers
SC

I forgot to add that there is a demo of the Rugby World Cup game on the ps3 store.

cheers

ASSASINS CREED: REVELATIONS Multiplayer BETA

.........is now on the PS3 Store for download!!!

I downloaded it last night, along with about 10 other demos.

I have not had a chance to play it yet, but other than perhaps some new characters and weapons i cannot see it being much different than the Brotherhood Multiplayer.

I am googling a review now.....back in a sec.

Anyone got this yet??

cheers

Looks like they have sorted out the biggest problems of the Brotherhood Multiplayer, or at least tried to tackle them.

click >>> Review <<< click

As you all know i am a huge AC fan, but somehow i hated Brotherhood Multiplayer. Hopefully they have made it better. I will dive in after lunch and let you know some hands-on feedback.

cheers

AC: Revelations - BETA

Have they improved it from the last one? YES

Are people still running around like headless chickens an ruining the very essence of AC? YES but not as bad.

The few tweeks they have made to the gameplay do make sense, and you can see that their development team have actually sat down and thought about it. They have not sorted out all the issues i have with the online gamplay, but they certainly are making headway.

Like the last one, the major issue for me is boredom. Even with more game modes and more maps, still essentially all you do is walk/run round and press square. COD has longevity with playablity because the game modes/maps/weapons create a variety of gamplay.

COD style customization: most of this section is blocked (as its only Beta), some functions are available but from what i can see this makes an interesting upgrade. But really i think this is a smoke screen to hide the fact that no matter what extras/options they give you, the actual gameplay on any game mode and any map just feels too samey.

All in all a good improvement, but still the single player mode is what will kick ass.

cheers
SC

p.s. i have fractured my right wrist in a rugby match and i am in a cast, so no ps3 or p0rn for me for a while

Re: [General discussion of] PS3

Finally finished LA Noire. As other have said, the crime-scene investigation parts get a bit samey, but I think the storyline really held it together. My kids have helped me get a few trophies for driving, vehicles etc. I still need to collect all the film reels, get the last 8 street crimes and the last remaining POIs, then I'm basically done with it. Not sure I'll bother with the DLC cases.
Picked up Deus Ex Revelations whilst in the UK (£33 from Heathrow duty free, ~90.- in the shops here ). Not had a chance to play it yet, still have to finish all the ACs plus a few others.

I am still working on LA Noire.
Kind of let it stay on the side while I try to finish Borderlands, which is somehow more interesting and fun.
Plus I got Infamous (courtesy Russkov) and infamous 2 to finish, but can't seem to get the time.
Will get Dirt 3 which I am really interested in since its done by codemasters, one of my favorite game developers.
Deus Ex is also something I want to get, but maybe once I finish atleast a couple of the ones I got.

yes, pm me a reasonable offer including postage

(i will not be able to send it until early next week, as my right hand/arm is in a cast and my left hand is in a splint, currently i am typing with one finger, one letter at a time)

lol @ 44chf for COD:WAW

i sold it on here for 15-20chf (possibly 10chf, i cant remember)

and you can get it from play.com for 15euro

COD: WAW is crap

COD: MW2 is still the best of the series imo

COD: Black Ops is average

COD: MW3 should be great like MW2

cheers
