The Confessional Thread

Hi,

Yes - this is the "confessional" thread.

Be you accusable, caught, censurable, censured, chargeable, condemned, conscience-stricken, contrite, culpable, damned, delinquent, depraved, doomed, erring, evil, felonious, or hangdog, this is the thread to post your apologies, confessions, stammering shame-faced sorriness and remorseful regretful repentance...

I'll start with my own sorry confession and apology.

I am apologising to a wonderful person I met quite recently. When I met this person I was captivated, enthralled and excited. But, or so it seems by my actions, not enough to prevent myself from cheating, lieing and destroying the trust and mutual respect that had grown in such a short space of time.

Why did I, and in such a stupid, moronic way, cheat on someone I cared for so much?

I would like several previous offences to be taken into consideration, i.e.: years of not being held accountable for my actions meant I was still in a crazy world were I could do anything and get away with it. I might get caught, but I didn't care - even if I did get caught. The cheating and lies kept coming from me for almost 2 weeks. I pretended to be busy at work or eating with work colleagues when in fact I was seeing another woman.

For me, I understand that this was a selfish, guilt ridden, fantasy world I was living in, that destroys the happiness of others, and in particular, the happiness of the precious, incredible, unique person I'm talking to now. By my actions, and my actions alone, I have torn away at this persons heart. There is a deep scar, and only time will tell (and by my reformation - of which this confession is part) if that scar can be healed. Proven loyalty and fidelity is most important now.

I am prepared, and have already, confronted the mess my selfish actions have left behind. It took just one or two moments to destroy the trust and will take a very long time, perhaps a lifetime, to rebuild that trust. I now need to show, through actions and words, that I can be faithful, loving and loyal. Whenever this person asks me to do something, I will do it, no matter what it is. The hurt will continue, it must continue, but by admitting fault and saying sorry I hope this is one of the first steps in the long journey on the road to reconciliation and mutual love and respect. I cannot and will not ask for full forgiveness.

There will be flowers and tears, and both mean I'm sorry and I love you.

Great post. Do you know why you behaved like that and how can you guarantee that you won't do so again?

Some things should not be published on an Internet forum, but dealt with the old fashioned way.

And I feel so sick now that I will need a fluffy flex 12L.

Seriously? You really can't just let it go?

OP a bunch of EFers have got their "mean out" after the Bertrand threads, so you might get some harsher answers than usual..
.. but.. I don't know.. did you just make this thread as an excuse to write how youre a changed person in the hope the wonderful person you recently met will read it? Or do you actually expect everyone will confess on this thread..?
Hmm..

Spring must just be around the corner. People are divulging their deepest secrets so they'll be abstained and ready for more sins during the randy season of spring.

Um, nope, you're talking to a faceless, anonymous forum community and a small number of us who know you....

Abstained is what the OP should have done.

Re: The Confessional Thread

I apologize.

Also, I apologize to those who take offence when I say that this thread also screams "attention-seeking", a.k.a. trolling.

UPDATE: I've been reliably assured that this is not a trolling exercise, the indiscretions were indeed committed and the cheatee has read james_w's post. Popcorn and apologies all round.
