Help! My daughter has lost her cuddly![lost blanket, how to replace or find the lost]

We lost my little's one's favourite toy today- her beloved blue mouse comforter. It was a free gift from Bayer two years ago. It basically comprises of a white mouse head and a blue cloth sewn together. Does anyone have one they can spare?

Re: Help! My daughter has lost her cuddly!

Votentia can you not trace your footsteps. People are often very thoughtful about hanging these kind of things in an easily viewed place. Even if you got a new one they know. My friend had two spare blankies exactly the same as the one her child loved but she could never get away with an impostor.

I hope for your sanity that you find it.

Good luck.

Re: Help! My daughter has lost her cuddly!

She had it when I picked her up from the kinderkrippe today. She dropped it on the floor and I picked it up and handed it to her. Thought she had it in the car with me. I will go back and check again later after her nap. She was not too well and I had to rush off.

Went back to the krippe - it was not anywhere. I suspect someone else has picked it up.

Just be glad you lost the cuddly and not your daughter!

Re: Help! My daughter has lost her cuddly!

Oh, I hope you find it! My daughter can't get to sleep very easily without her little comforter...fortunately we bought two from the start and alternated them, so she is ok with either of them.

Hopefully, whoever picked it up will bring it back with them to kinderkrippe tomorrow. Best of luck!

Re: Help! My daughter has lost her cuddly!

Having two daughters, and going through a full day, and a longer night, of agony when she lost her "blankey" I know how you feel. I tried to give her a replacement blankey - and it didn't do much good since it was the wrong color. Good luck!!

Re: Help! My daughter has lost her cuddly![lost blanket, how to replace or find the l

After losing one in probably similar fashion to you - probably in the gutter when getting into the car in a hurry, we decided to do something about a replacement:

We bought two and used to keep the spare one ready
(it was actually a little bear with a cloth for a body).

All was well until our son discovered the second one.

We had some explaining to do then and he was too young to understand cloning or anything elese remotely plausible.

Hope you find it.

I would just tell her that the monster under her bed has eaten it.

Retrace the route the day you lost it and lookout for it. I've found my son's missing toy that someone was kind enough to put up high, hanging from a sign, so that it didn't get ruined on the ground.

Re: Help! My daughter has lost her cuddly![lost blanket, how to replace or find the l

When I was a wee one I was inseperable from my pink bear. Somehow it got lost and I was inconsolable.

About 2 weeks later my parents went away on a trip and my mom found the exact same bear in a shop. She was beside herself with joy.

She brought it home to me thinking I would be the happiest kiddie ever that day. Much was her shock when I threw said bear over my shoulder saying that it was very obviously an imposter.

The poor bear is still seeing a counsellor and I moved on to lego...

Moral of the story - the ensuing emotional damage will probably be much worse for the parent than the kiddie

I don't live in Zurich so cannot be shop specific but there is a baby shop in Basel called Nuggi Haus and they sell cuddlies like that! My daughter has hers from there 4 years on and ratty as hell but I completely sympathise with your plight! Hope you find something soon!
