Re: Google account hacked

I've never used the 'find contacts' feature in any of these apps as I don't want to give away my password. I guess if you wanted to do this you could/should change your password, do this, then reset your password.

The other worrying thing is with Smartphones. If you loose or have this stolen they could gain access to your email contacts without knowing your password.

Re: Google account hacked

I agree, this is a worry with my smartphone.
not sure what options are to avoid someone getting this information should they want. you can make it so your screen is locked automatically but this gets annoying having to unlock it every time you pick it up.
but equally annoying is entering password information into gmail.com every time you want to check your email!

Has your mail account been hacked?

Yesterday i received an email from a friend, saying that she was in dire trouble- been robbed, stuck in London, and could i please send her money.

I thought - hang on a sec - you are a single mother of 5 children, how could you have afforded the plane ticket to London from New Zealand in the first place (and of course farmed out the kids to the appropriate fathers)?

It turns out that her Hotmail account had been hijacked. And today I read in the paper that gmail is having the same problem.
Test your German here.

All of you who surf your mail and facebook from your ipads & pods & lord knows what else, please be aware that it is really easy to get into your system when you're out and about.

Best to write an additional piece of software- an app - so that the money sent to you by friends, really does reach your account
